FFCC: The Crystal Bearers: 7/8/7/8:

"The story, woven by a cast of colorful characters, is extremely fascinating."
"The way the story develops, along with the unique characters and world setting, is brilliant. There are lots of little details to everything."
"The telekinesis setup is fun -- you get to perform a lot of actions in the playable events, but I wish people gave more of a response to getting moved around."
"The levels are well-made and full of gimmicks, but the map doesn't give you much info, making it hard to figure out where you are at times. It's hard to get a grip on your surroundings, and the game feels a bit like a long fetch quest, But the playable events and wide variety of minigames ensure that players never get bored."

30 eh? Not bad. The game is still worth picking up in spite of some flaws which so far from the noted features just stem from how open-ended the game is.

I still smell a "sleeper hit" which is good, because I could use a game that makes me lose sleep over playing it.

Don't know really how to respond to this.

Story is fascinating.
Development with characters and setting is brilliant.
Telekinesis is fun.
Levels are well-made.
Playable events and wide variety of minigames ensure players never get bored.

I want to see more about the problems, the negatives they had with the game.

the people not responding thing is something I could already tell from videos.

Negatives don't seem as bad as I thought. No complaints about the length, with sounds good to me.

I wonder if Western critics will echo similar praises and complaints. I'm expecting lots of 8's across the board, but maybe a 9 or two from a few places (like maybe IGN). Regardless, I'm picking this up after Christmas since I've been waiting on this one for years now. A full fledged, single player, action-adventure Final Fantasy with an upbeat protagonist, interesting story that connects to the other Crystal Chronicles games, and makes good use of telekinese powers? I'll take 12! (lol, obviously I'll take 1 copy, but if you're familiar with Homestar Runner then you should get the joke I just made.)

Then the numbers don't match the overall result.

These can't be all the details...
That or the feeling of it being a fetch quest and the feeling of being lost are hugely significant.

@akel

the bad point are the bad camera, the 20 hours of game, long tutorial and limited NPC reactions,

anyway i love the world of FFCC, the tribes and all that stuff, so i want to know what happened to this world in The crystal bearers

I'll wait for some more reviews that maybe explain things a bit more in-depth than these short blurbs.

So the gameplay, which is the most important part, is gimmicky and not that well implemented. Oh well, I'll probably pick it up once it drops down to 20 dollars or something.
