“IMO, Capcom is the third-party publisher with the BEST cross-platform support out there. Fans of any particular console will always want something for the other consoles, and I understand that, but since all the consoles are successful in today’s market, we’re actively supporting them all (the love is pretty evenly spread even to handhelds). While I know it’s easy to do the ‘you did that game on console X and not on my console Y!!!’, we really are trying and I think we’re much better at it than the other publishers, so please look at the question in terms of overall industry context rather than just in terms of specific games.” - Capcom’s Senior Manager of Community, Seth Killian
There really isn't all that much to complain about with Capcom's Wii support, as they do have a good mix of old and new. Sure, I'd love to see more from them, but there are a lot of other devs that do much worse on the platform.

I still kinda like them anyway.
That is all.
MH3 and TvC. Both upcoming, but woo anyway. =)
Dead Rising > DR:Chop Till You Drop
Devil May Cry 4 > Spyborgs
Lost Planet > Umbrella Chronicles
RE 5 > RE 4
Street Fighter IV > Tatsunoko vs. Capcom
Now, I'm a fan of MANY of these games, but Capcom isn't fooling anyone. They might be great about cross-platform support, but they sure don't support evenly distributing the quality of their titles.
Capcom's especially good when you compare them to, say, Konami, or to... most any western developer... -_-
With a couple odd titles missing (how did a Bionic Commando sequel or remake NOT hit a Nintendo platform, especially with the Wii Remote and the grapple mechanic?!), they're doing pretty well.
EDIT: @Hellhammer
I have to say, you make a bit of a point. (Although Zack & Wiki needs to go on there somewhere!)
Then again, I prefer TvC to SFIV, and I'm really looking forward to MH3. However, there could probably be a bit more effort on the Wii...
"Capcom has been nice to the Wii."
Not nice enough for what is the current market leader. They still have yet to bring one of their major franchises on the Wii. No, spin-offs don't count, and Monster Hunter isn't a major franchise, it's only popular in Japan and Tri will bomb here, there's no ifs ands or buts. If it couldn't sell well here on the PS2 (which should be an indication that it might not be meant for console success the say way it's successful on handhelds) or PSP outside Japan, what makes people think it will sell millions on the Wii?
@Hellhammer
This. Capcom's support might not be god awful like some companies, but it's still far from good. They still mostly treat it as a second class console. The only company to not treat it as a 'kiddy' console is Sega, and the ironic thing about this is that Sega was the one who labeled Nintendo that during their mud slinging days during the 16-bit console war.
Oh, hello there Inneverate...
Except for the nintendo funded monster hunter tri , capcom never developped internally any games for the wii. It's all tose, cavia for those unwanted and insulting chronicles games . And those marvelous geniuses at eighting made tatsunoko vs capcom . All good to great game but no thanks to the tiniest budget given by capcom.
That also means now there is no chance for a new capcom game on wii. Certainly no 20millions dollars game
people keep saying "ohh, but they gave you a crappy outsourced port of dead rising" and "ohhh, but what about TvC?" (which is most likely heading to all platforms, will feature new characters for the xbox and ps3 players, and we STILL wont get street fighter) or "monster hunter fool, monster hunter!" (okay, you got me there, that was a total win)
so MH3 makes it alright or something? seems pretty damn wrong to me
They were so creative in the 90s and early-mid 2000s, and Zack & Wiki showed the can make good Wii games that aren't gimicky. I'd like more of those.
You bring terrible support and 'DLC'.
Wii exclusives that are worth playing:
- Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
- Zack & Wiki
- We Love Golf! (not great, but honestly not that bad either)
Awesome ports from other systems:
- Okami
- Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition
Unreleased exclusives, high expectations:
- Monster Hunter 3
- Tatsunoku vs Capcom
- Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles
Obviously missed the mark:
- SpyBorgs
- Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop
Overall that's a pretty solid list of games. The only publishers that I can think of immediately that have a better list would be Nintendo and (probably) Electronic Arts. But Nintendo is a given and EA wins out just by sheer numbers.
Seems like the complainers should shut their yaps...
Just Bionic Comando NES please.
Actually, RE4 is almost unanimously considered to be better than RE5. That said, RE4 is a Gamecube game ported to the Wii, but as far as quality goes RE4 is at the top of the heap. RE5 was great, gets bashed more than it deserves, but it certainly isn't as amazing a game as RE4.
Just throwing that out there. No other complaints about what you said.
No, I'll FULLY agree. RE4 is, hands down, a better game, but I'm talking about the effort Capcom is claiming to have made.
Releasing a port of a last gen. title and using it's earnings to develop it's HD-only sequel is NOT a 'great job with cross-platforming support' by any stretch.
