We've enhanced some of the features there (in touch-screen control). We've also added the Phantom mechanic to the game. Players are able to, while controlling Link, also control the Phantom with a tap of the stylus, and drawing paths for the Phantom. The two of them will venture through parts of the game together, and introduce some new puzzle-solving elements to the game through that mechanic. - Shigeru Miyamoto

Nothing really new coming from Miyamoto on Spirit Tracks. Good thing we go that trailer earlier in the night!

not sure that the "the Phantom mechanic" will be anything great, looks to be just a lame way to make cheaper puzzles. pretty much like that temple of time level in TP, just more of the same.

i'm getting tried of stupid puzzle elements in games these days. 10 out of 10 are lame and i can't help but want to skip them and just play on with the rest of the game. i hope these are actually fun, but how many times can you push a box, kill all the bats etc. before it gets old again.
