Michael Pachter is the only one that continues to believe that this is going to happen. I don't know how forcefully we can say that there is no Wii HD. - Reggie Fils-Aime
Reggie also talks a bit about the Vitality Sensor, but says we'll have to wait for the real info.
The reason for waiting is, when we show off the Vitality Sensor, we want to do that with software. So people can understand it and visualize it...see what it can do. That's the one piece of hardware and software that I haven't seen. I haven't seen that since E3.

Story Feedback
1. NES - fresh and new, but technically not that powerful
2. SNES - powerful version of the NES
3. N64 - fresh and new, 3D gaming for the first time (PSX, Saturn wasn't open world like Mario, Zelda, Banjo...)
4. Gamecube - powerful version of the N64...
5. Wii - fresh and new
6. New Nintendo Home Console - powerful version of the Wii...

Exactly.
"The reason for waiting is, when we show off the Vitality Sensor, we want to do that with software."
Funny because they had no problems announcing it without showing any software to go with it. They probably shouldn't have even announced the peripheral until the software was ready to be shown.
This.
Nintendo's next console will be HD, but it won't be a simple upgrade of the Wii.
Kind of like how the Wii wasn't a simple upgrade of the GameCube... oh wait.
This revealed so much truth that it tore the fabric of reality.
@McDaniel-77
that's incorrect. the NES was a VERY powerful system...at the time. when you take note of the jump from atari to the NES, it was a massive boost in graphics and power. pretty much super mario and zelda vs pong and pacman, there is a clear step forward there.
and i'm not really sure i could call the wii "fresh and new," more like "old and repackaged," but it did work this time, but lets be honest, the wii offers nothing new, just perhaps a new way of looking at it all. everything that was done with the wii (and even ds) was tried and had failed in the past.
