November 6, 2009 by The News Team Filed Under: Wii, Rumors

Tales of Graces is going to be a Wii-exclusive outing in the 'Tales of' series. While we're all excited about that one, a little rumor popped up concerning the previous Tales title, Tales of Vesperia.

According to Tales of Vesperia voice actor Rikiya Koyama, the title is going to appear on Wii. In his blog, Mr. Koyama states that Vesperia started on 360, then went to PS3, and now it's on the way to Wii. No word on what exactly Mr. Koyama means, so we don't know if it would be a port or a new entry in the series. Either way, we'll keep our eyes peeled for a confirmation. Thanks to Hero of Legend for the heads up!

Meh... Visperia is probably the most uninteresting Tales of game in my book.

So it means that Xbox360 users weren't beta testers of Vesperia, but alpha testers?

Jokes aside, that's some good piece of information there. I'd happily play a good port or a sequel/prequel/spinoff (is that even possible when talkin about Tales titles?) of Vesperia on the Wii.

Cool. If I do end up getting Veperia I'd still probably pick it up on PS3 but it's good to see publishers throwing more JRPG support Wii's way.

If it makes its way to the Wii, I'll gladly support that version. I have the 360 one already, but I want to support JRPGs on Wii. :)

Seriously? I didn't play much, but from my playtime, it was the second best Tales (not counting SNES) I've played. Great presentation, good music, good characters.

I really enjoyed Vesperia on the 360. The visuals were lush and vibrant in color...it just looked so smooth. I know it may be downgraded on the Wii, but it should still look pretty good considering it has a cartoon art style.

Considering Tales of Vesperia has already been ported to the PS3 with a new additional character and missions, I wander if the Wii version will be a completely new game related to the Vesperia characters?

I hope they add motion controls to their special moves (moves you don't use all the time), and not implement those gestures as an afterthought like they did Dawn of A New World.

Theyre never going to make a game as good as Symphonia so I could care less.

I have the Xbox 360 version and I have to say that it was my favorite tales game by far. ToD2 being in second place followed by ToS.

Here's hoping for a new story/scenario with all the awesome characters (minus Karol)

I like the Tales series, but I have this fear we are getting the mini-game version for some odd reason...

I'm about 80% sure this is referring to costumes. I'm going to go check and make sure I can remember where I saw the screen-shots. Probably should kills this rumor before it spreads too far too fast.

Tales of Vesperia: Dawn of the New World. You heard it here first!!

Jokes aside, I absolutely LOVE Tales of Vesperia. It's by far my favorite in the series. I'd like to see a sequel on the Wii, but I'm really just expecting a cheap spin-off if there's any truth to this...

@rockman

The blog said he's doing voices. So that either confirms a Wii Vesperia port or a Duke cameo in Graces. I think he'd know what game he's doing the VA for so I think it might be the former. We'll see.

Who cares, it would never make its way here. I'm still laughing at PS3 owners who still hold out hope of a localization.

What? Really? Is that even possible?
I was actually hoping the PS3 version was going to get localized, and I was planning on buying a PS3 for it. If not, I was planning on buying a 360 for it.

So I don't even know what to think about this. But one thing is for sure: I can't get excited unless it is localized. Well, I'm still hoping for a PS3 localization. But a Wii localization would be good too, as long as it remains largely the same.
But a spin-off for Wii would just be sad. A true sequel wouldn't be to bad though. (I'm not counting on that though, because it wouldn't make any sense.)

EDIT: Actually, what seems more likely, that I saw someone else mention, is that he simply meant Tales of Graces as part of the same series. We'll see though, I guess.

This is.....unexpected, along with insane infact. If they ever do this they had better localize it. (or localize Graces)

I have a feeling this was translated wrong or was just a rumor..........

@rpguy_ad

hopefully your support won't be in vain. I would wager that the Wii version will have its perks that allow it to compete against the other versions.

I've never played a tales title but my girlfriend LOVED symphonia (not the sequel though).

The titles look kinda visually drab and not realy interesting but I would still like to try them.

Not getting my hopes up on this one. Sounds too weird to me.

At any rate, I'm a huge idiot, so whatever it is, I'll probably get it because it's Tales. but whatever.

DotNW was pretty crappy, and Graces appears to be on the complete opposite end of the spectrum, so if this does come to fruition, I dunno what to expect of it. Although DotNW was essentially a cash-in on the popularity of Symphonia, while Graces isn't anything like that, so it's not really fair to compare the two.

I would think that anything Vesperia would continue to be 360/PS3, but who knows anymore. We'll see.
