Wow... very impressive!

Too bad the art style sucks. Brown and grey makes it look fugly.

The level design is actually better than the Conduit's and give you more to do. Very nice. This is turning out to be a pleasant surprise.

What do you mean? It's noon in a desertic country, the enviroment colors give it a more realistic feel...

Haven't you seen the HD version? hehe, you can almost feel the heat.

On topic: this looks good.. I think all the people who were doubting can't deny that it looks pretty competent.

On another note, targeting seems pretty accurate but it looks like when you shoulder aim it gets harder to aim with the IR pointer.

@Stryks

You're not. It does look like crap. The on-rails section had no shadows, and the lighting's much worse. The detail's reduced drastically, too.

The other parts look ok, but this stage looks like s***.

In this day and age, your game has to be brown and grey and dull-looking, otherwise no one is interested in it.

Can everyone stop bashing the graphics, I mean it's no CODMW2 but it's good especially on the Wii standards. This game is turning out to be an interesting surprise. As of now it is a day one buy for me.

Looks like crap, still. I see no improvement at all over the original screens. Just another generic FPS here. At least the Conduit tried to mix it up in terms of weapon strategies.

you must be blind if you see no difference. The fact that there are textures on the characters show how different they are.

These videos are blurry because of youtube. The game will look much sharper and smoother on an actual TV.

Looks like CoD4 to me.

this level is flying by a fairly large area with alot of vehicles and enemies and explosions.

This level has been downgraded the most compared to the other ones.

Its somewhat understandable. Its meant to be brown by design, but the original versions had more shrubbery on the ground and alot more enviromental lighting and shadows to help make it look more believable.

The building textures actually look pretty close to the original, but the lack of bloom lighting and shadows make it feel incredibly bland.

This type of color and lighting palette typically is the worst possible situation for the Wii to handle.

I'm still skeptical, and not a fan of anything that Activision has provided on Wii, but this port is looking better than I expected. Graphically it's really hard to tell yet - is it because of YouTube, or will the actual graphics suck? - but the gameplay seems to be there.

Might be the first Activision published game I buy this generation... maybe.

Wow, that ugly.

Looks decent in some parts, looks terrible in others. Mostly terrible to its 360 counterpart. I love MW and it pains me to see this. I love my Wii but I mean, there are some games that shouldn't be ported over to the Wii.

.. and I mean even small things like the death animations of enemies when your shooting the rockets at them are noticeable. They just .. fall. Theres no physics on them whatsoever like the other platforms.

before entering this thread, i didn't know that this was a port, interesting. the gameplay looks pretty good, not as good as the source material, but good. i can't tell if it's because of a bad capture, or if it's the graphics, but it does have a rather dated look. kinda looks like an early ps2 game. beggars can't be choosers, though, right?

would someone please make a ground up title for wii that will fill my need for quality fps action? this really doesn't seem to fit the bill. definitely waiting for the reviews to come out.

@Haziqonfire

I'm sorry, but last I checked, all the death animations in COD4 were pre-recorded and not rag doll. Heck, whenever I've hit someone with an RPG in multiplayer, they just bend over and die, no physics involved.

In any case, I'm surprised at how well they translated the level over. Only real sacrifice made was the texture quality. Also, the music seems far more subdued, but that might be because of the video itself.

Makes me wonder what Treyarch could do if they put more attention on the Wii version for their next game.

What! Not even late PS2 games looked near this good. Just look at COD:WAW for PS2, it shows that, "Oh, the Wii does have some extra kick in it", people's memories are short some times.

Looks goods, but the cinematic aspect of the Wii port is what floored me.
I know the Wii can't graphically match the PC version, but I AM impressed the vibe of the game is intact.

Nope (some folks just don't want to admit it). It looks like PS2. A Wii game shouldn't look like this in 2009. The Wii can do better than this (with the right developers). I am sure it could of turned out worse, but it could have turned out a lot better (with the right developers).

It seriously still needs polish. I guess I'm just biased based on personal experiences with GCN titles like TimeSplitters: Future Perfect with its distinctively fantastic art style or Geist which at least looked damn good. This still looks very iffy, and I'm kind of ashamed that devs are suddenly incapable of making games that look better or even as good as their previous generation counterparts.

Is it safe to call people who are comparing it to Xbox360 and PS3 CODMW idiots? lol

I mean, well DUHHHHH! Of course it looks like crap compared to them, but for the Wii it looks fine, and more importantly plays well and still has the MW energy to it.

In fact I'm rather surprised how important the audio is for cinematic feel. I mean I know it's important, but if you listened to the video but didn't watch it, are you not excited at least a little?

Very impressive anyways.

It looks ugly but at least it looks fun! I actually skip the "cinematic" James Bond-Snow Mobile-sequence-ridden MW2, because of Wiis Reflex!!! I play these games mostly on PC(in Full HD) because of the mouse, but Wiimote-shooting is super fun alternative and pointing into the screen(instead of rubbing your wrist into the computer table) makes the best feeling of shooting in games.

@Haziqonfire

COD has less physics than Goldeneye (the throwing knife model in that game still rules)...

-

This looks poor. Certainly not good, but just passable with regards to the models and textures (considering expectations on the Wii don't really exist...). To actually be anywhere near close to good it would need some freaking shadows, you know like The Conduit (which had a metric ton of shader effects too). The framerate shown isn't so hot either.

Roll on Grinder.

OK, a lot of complaining and arguing and ranting and raving? going onhere...

OK, heres the thing. Yes, this level in particular is the only one that doesn't look that stellar compared to what I personally have seen so far since I have been watching the videos coming through.

But to be honest it looks good enough.
Sure with more time they could of made it look better.

Yes believe it the Wii can handle MORE than this when everything is done right and fully optimised for its limited memory when compared to other consoles.

It just may take a bit of time and effort but it isn't an impossibility as some people really believe. Guys the Wii can handle more than we ALL give it credit for it is so underused its not funny. don't think people really understand this. It needs to be driven home. (just watch what High Voltage do with it next year...damn I wonder if Factor 5 is still working on it too..they can also show its true prowess because they are familiar with gamecube already...same APIs as Wii and more updated graphics chipset from ATI ram and cpu power by IBM)

The grinder will show that to extent NEXT YEAR yes....but it depends how big the levels will be on that vs a COD game and what not.... Plus these are different engines completely.

Anyway...for what it is one thing I can say for sure is...the early screens(pre-alhpa?) that quite frankly pissed me off well things don't seem to be turning out as bad as I thought they would.

Treyarch have done a good job here. With more time and of course I bet there was a time restriction...they could of polished an already well done job. More polish.

But still kudos to them for what they have done here which is a damn fine job give or take. Show Infinity Ward how its done!

IW talking about the Wii cant do this Wii cant do that...no IT CAN'T BECAUSE YOU WON'T [DO] IT!

I am getting this game no question.

See you all online! (afte I have trawled through the great single player, and from the looks of things that is going to be hot action!)

okay but we already know that treyarch is activision's red headed stepchild, i doubt they were given the budget needed for a graphical feat

i would have criticized, but after learning about that activision/IW crap, i dont blame treyarch
