@mattmagician I agree. But seeing this and how it is played, it just infuriates me that they haven't made a GOOD full Pokemon Game for Wii. Why don't they do a separate series for Pokemon? The Handheld would be the traditional way of playing and the console version would be how the battles are played out on the tv anime: using your 4 poke abilities, you can hide behind rocks to defend against attacks or start up the gym's sprinklers and then electric abilities can HURT rock types.
The graphics look really good for what I expected (since the previous titles kept reusing graphics from Stadium on N64), there are battles, you can play Psyduck, and it just looks neat and like it could have a lot to do.
And I hate Pokemon spin-offs, but even I am interested in this title.
I don't get what the problem is. I think this game looks great. Minigames and 3rd person battles where you control Pikachu (and maybe others). Sounds like the making of the best Pokemon spinoff for consoles since the N64 days to me.
Leeks pretty cool, I like the bits were you battle the Pokemon, I always wanted a Pokemon like that, where you manually control the Pokemon in a fight.
It look alright, clearly something for the kids but the wealth of minigames (that look decently developed) should bring back some good Pokemon Stadium memories (Venasaur on a Beyblade!?! SOLD!)
The visuals are pretty basic but clean, around the same level of Pokemon Colosseum (the environments at least). It does look to have a lot of variety though which is good.
I'm predicting it will just be an okay game, not the best spinoff but far from the worst.
I want Pokemon Snap 2 now, it would be the perfect bridge title (not just for little children) and would suit the Wii perfectly. Stupid Nintendo, Pokemon is their biggest property yet they treat it like crap on home consoles.
But it's hard to tell is there's even an adventure portion, and if there is, most of those areas look like they might be linear from point A to B kind of places.
Wow, this...actually looks like a fun little game with solid production values...
Graphically it actually pops out to me on Wii, has some good visuals. And it looks like it has decent variety in its gameplay but everything LOOKS mechanically sound.
I mean, yea, it's kiddy and all that, but ain't nothin' wrong with a well-produced game skewed for the younger audience, and the sad part is that I actually am now interested in playing it. It looks incredibly adorable and I can be a sucker for Pokemon if the gameplay is good.
And speaking of minigames, the minigames in the Stadium series were actually pretty good. Am I the only person here who actually played them a decent amount?
In all honesty, the reason I don't see the problem with this is because, while I don't like Minigame Compilation titles (except WarioWare Smooth Moves), minigames were my FAVORITE part of Pokemon Stadium 1 & 2.
Battle Revolution was kind of like a lame version of the Stadium part (without the gyms) from the Stadium games, and now this is the minigames to compliment it, plus controlling Pikachu in battles, which is awesome.
I wonder if the games will have a multiplayer mode...? Hmm...
Magikarp splashing his way to the finish line... AWESOME
I'm actually getting more interested in this game after seing this. I like games that show the world of wild Pokémon in full 3d and only Pokemon Snap has done it before... this one seems to have much more interactions even if its just in the form of minigames.
I'm still waiting for a proper Pokemon Stadium Wii though (will all Pokemon up to now of course)
Yea, that's such a crazy thought. Why would anyone want a real Pokemon game on a home console?! A Pokémon rpg on consoles can't possibly be better than a handheld Pokémon game.
This game doesn't interest me. I just don't like Pokémon that much.
Wow...looks like this spin-off might actually be good. Definitely not another Hey You Pikachu or Pokemon Channel. And anyone being cynical about the presence of minigames must be too jaded by this generation to remember the Pokemon Stadium games.
To be honest, it's a little surreal to see 3D Pokemon not based on the N64 models. I don't care about graphics too often...but Colloseum and XD just oozed laziness in that regard.
I guess no one else noticed that he said "Action-Adventure" like 20 times. I doubt Pikachu is playing these games for no reason, probably rescuing Ash or something.
Considering the Wii online service is hardly renowned, has FCs, and Wii-DS connectivity has been shamefully underused, then I'm not seeing the needed push for it now either.
Next time around with a more user friendly and robust online system? Sure thing. Now ain't the time though.
Pokemon's online on the DS is pretty much has all it really needs. But I suppose they could do something unique on a home system in the future so I guess we're onto something here.
The only thing Pokemon could benefit on a console now is a MMO...but MMOs are terrible and should never happen to the franchise.
Doesn't look too bad to me, though I'd like to think that this is Nintendo's first game setting up a Wii Engine for a Mystery Dungeon Title...(at least)
Doesn't look bad. But, I thought Pokemon were just like wild animals. They are clearly like... their own society. Having races, contests and standing behind a counter (selling stuff?)! All without mankind.
Looks pretty good, actually. :O I hope that it focuses mostly on adventuring and battling. And that there is a wide variety of Pokemon to play as.
It's not Pokemon Snap 2, but it looks like it will do. Definitely nice to see what looks like a GOOD console Pokemon, since we haven't seen one since the N64.
So who gives a crap I still want the same damn treatment if I am going to but game after game I would like to have a selection to choose from not whatever they feel like and as a buisness they should care equally to other countries especially ones that are making more money.

So umm... too much focus on mini games for me
I agree. But seeing this and how it is played, it just infuriates me that they haven't made a GOOD full Pokemon Game for Wii.

Where is that pokemon game, Nintendo?

@MiiDS
You played this game? It's not good? Oh snap.
@Serebii
I either forgot, or had no idea, that you visit this site.
Serebii's creepily annoying like that.
Somehow the graphics look better to me on this video.
Minigames galore!! This is like the Pikachu Olympics... But it looks cute and interesting.
The visuals are pretty basic but clean, around the same level of Pokemon Colosseum (the environments at least). It does look to have a lot of variety though which is good.

Looks fun too. I'm seemingly one of the few who actually gives the spinoffs a chance though...Pokemon Snap is probably my favorite Pokemon game ever.
Though the production values look surprisingly high.
Battle Revolution was kind of like a lame version of the Stadium part (without the gyms) from the Stadium games, and now this is the minigames to compliment it, plus controlling Pikachu in battles, which is awesome.

@bonefish
A game where you play as Pikachu.
Hardcore storyline.
I lol'd.
Anyways, this actually looks pretty decent, and as others have said, mini-games were the best part of the Stadium games.

Whahahaahah... Oh wait... did... did you say hardcore storyline?! ... AaaaWhahahaha!

Why do you people want this so much? What would a traditional Pokemon game even benefit from being on a console?
@Lyude77
I think the story already got detailed and there's no mention of Ash (thankfully).
Ash never really appeared in the games aside from that puzzle game for the N64.
Considering the Wii online service is hardly renowned, has FCs, and Wii-DS connectivity has been shamefully underused, then I'm not seeing the needed push for it now either.

Ah, I'm still a Nintendo fan above all else :p
Anyway, this game looks great, I'm looking forward to covering it next month
Nintendo is a Japanese company?
Nintendo IS Japanese.
Also, I think the graphics suit this game. (Don't kill me, plz D: )
Yeah, I guessing this isn't canon... Yet more reason why Pokemon Snap is so damn good.
It's not Pokemon Snap 2, but it looks like it will do. Definitely nice to see what looks like a GOOD console Pokemon, since we haven't seen one since the N64.

I think it looks great, can't wait for it to be released here!
Oh god its serebii *cringes* I hope there's a game where you can slap the hell out of a celebi using iron tail.
