I really do love anime, and I've finally gotten back into collecting series' that I'm interested in. I thought I was pretty up on the anime scene, but I had no idea that a Tower of Druaga anime hit Japan last year. The best news is, the first 12 episodes are out on DVD in the US as of this week! I might have to pop out to the store and pick this up!

I picked up the anime a few days ago at Best Buy. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but I've heard that it's very good.

Uhm, the only Tower of Druaga game I remember is the arcade game. Was there another game like it released? Or did they get most of that out of thin air?

I am quite bemused by this.

You can watch the first and second seasons of The Tower of Druaga at Crunchyroll.com. It's legit since Crunchyroll has the distribution rights, and it's free!

"I thought I was pretty up on the anime scene"

well apparently you are not (no offense of course) because in general watching the anime scene in the US is much more limited than watching it directly from Japan (and no I am not Japanese nor do I live there)

Unfortunately like all game to anime transitions, the end result is not that great ( DMC anime is pure crap) so as expected the series suffers from a paper thin plot and limited character development.

FYI There is a season 2 out as well that ended MARCH 2009!!!!!

Druaga is a pretty decent series, but barely connected to the actual game other than Gilgamesh and Druaga being part of the plot.

for real RMC, you are pretty back behind!!!

if ya hadn't accepted you were laying off, man, i would had eat ya alive.

I did liked this anime, and more, loved how it pikced up after the events of the game (which, btw, pretty hard one. I had beaten gauntlet on the nes and this one took the royal crown)

second season wasn't that great, actually, i'm halfway on it, and need to pick it up, but i'm not liking it much
