A portion of an ONM review...

Better than most shooters on the Wii. Squint and it's a must buy.

+ Everything is included
+ Excellent online modes
+ Customisable controls
+ Exciting, fast-paced action
- Rough around the edges

Full review here (thanks CoffeewithChess!)

A pathetic review. The reviewer gave this vile piece of trash a score higher than The Conduit (done by the same guy).

It's looking better than the Conduit IMO. I'm not talking graphics (even though they do look really nice in this game). Hell, even WaW was better than TC. While I did enjoy TC, it wasn't quite the incredible Wii FPS it was hyped to be. Nice, and a great effort but just not as enjoyable as WaW.

Off to pick this up in a bit. Tough call between this and MW2, but playing through CoD 4 with Wii controls seems too good an offer to pass up.

@Dr_Peace

Not to start an argument but I am willing to bet you haven't played it.

Maybe that's because he liked the game better. Just because you prefer The Conduit doesn't mean that everyone else does as well. Grow up.

The review was uninteresting and implausible. It was short and centered on graphics(like everyone else), when the only interesting thing in this TWO YEARS old game, that we all are well familiar with, is TEH CONTROLS!!! Customisation is not the only merit in Wii-versions Game play!!! Too random to be taken seriously. And we can, and should criticize magazine writers as much as they criticize everyone else.

@Seaphron

I did, two years ago. I have also read and seen everything I need to from this title, and it smacks of laziness.

@Jet Pilot

Fair enough if he likes the gameplay more, I like COD even if I consider the core gameplay to be quite shallow and even cheap (even compared to The Conduit).

That does not give the reviewer of such an influential magazine the right to be a freaking hypocrite. Praising the customization of MWR and not even mentioning it when reviewing The Conduit (and crying about the grenade controls) is complete bullcrap. He didn't even give the former game a chance (not mentioning graphics, AI etc), and even when he says nothing has been cut from the HD MW release he is outright lying.

You grow up, giving this trash such high scores is just bad for the Wii's image.

@asparrowgoose

Are you joking, this game looks like ass. N64 games have better technology than this game...

The Conduit was never hyped up to be the holy grail of the FPS genre, ever. It was hyped on the prospect of fantastic controls, great online and graphics technology. It delivered on those promises.

Actually play it before counting it out. I was skeptical too so I gave it a rent and so far it hasn't let me down. They actually put some effort into it.

I think that they didn't put enough effort into it. Their team got 20 people for a year and I couldn't call it an effort.

But that's not to say I'm not going to buy it. I like Wii's FPS-controls so much, that I'm SO going to buy this, because this is the best FPS-game in a Wii right now. Conduit had better graphics and perfect controls, but I want a new FPS-game so bad! And while they didn't put much effort into it, this is not bad...the game is still there, and Treyarch is slowly improving on graphics as well.

Split screen is not needed in Wii FPS. Dividing the screen makes aiming awkward. No need to waste the already limited developement time(20 people made Reflex in a year) and equally limited processing power of the Wii into two player, that is curiosity anyway. I prefer local multiplayer in general, but in FPS you need to be able to lurk without anyone else knowing your whereabouts. I have had some good times in local multiplayer FPS's in the past, but lets give it a rest already and let the developers concentrate into more topical things.
