Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was an absolutely huge success. Now that title is heading to Wii, and the sequel is already raking in big bucks on 360/PS3/PC. With the modern side of things attracting more gamers, it looks like EA may be heading in the same direction for their Medal of Honor revival.
According to an inside source, the next Medal of Honor is going to be set in present times. The source went on to say, “it’s a new take on the modern warfare idea – and will really help give the series the kick up the arse it needs."
Well, the formula has worked very well for Activision, so why not EA? Medal of Honor used to be the big dog on the market, but can it ever regain the crown from Call of Duty?

It may not "regain the crown," but changing up the series would help it feel more fresh.

As long as they find someway to make it original, I'm fine with it. I'm currently MW2 and would definitely accept more games like it.

There's lots of places they could put it to make it original.
North Korea is one place.

Yes NO one is going to play this instead of CoD.
Medal of Honour originally petered out because of CoD, now they're just trying to play catch up.

Don't they have the Battlefield franchise for this?
It's kinda funny, though. This is kinda similar to the Guitar Hero vs. Rock Band thing, except in reverse.
Infinity Ward originally worked on Medal of Honor games (though they weren't Infinity Ward back then), then moved on to do Call of Duty.

More FPS games in a MW-dominated genre? Good luck with that EA...
@Mirai
And this. I hope this over-flux of FPS and Music games dies by next generation.

you forgot to say that your fps needs to have a more "cinematic experience". then you'll show em... you'll show em all!

@Seroth
Battlefield is far different from Medal of Honor and Call of Duty.
EA should put the next Medal of Honor in Vietnam or even one of the Gulf Wars.
