Sounds like a pretty expensive rental program to me. I'm pretty sure the consumer is getting a really raw deal on this one.

GameStop's used game trade-in policies always give the customer the shaft, while they get the goldmine. It's one thing to make a profit on a trade-in, it's another to give the customer less than 50% of what a game is worth and sell it at a $5.00 discount. Only the used games in really, really bad condition are significantly cheaper than new games, and they usually have that terrible stock cover with the name of the game written in sharpie.

It just sickens me that game shops get away with robbery like this. EB games in australia gives you around $20 for a game, then sells it for $75 pre-owned (keep in mind that games in AUS are $100 retail), so they're making a killing off second hand games.
