Do you remember when magic played a big part of the gameplay in the Legend of Zelda series? Things have certainly changed over the years. If magic is involved in the game, it barely gets used, and doesn't really play an important role. Could this all change with Zelda Wii? That remains to be seen, but I know I'd like to see the developers get back to these more mystical ideas.

Magic has never played a big part in the Zelda series. Except maybe part 2.

I'd like for the Goddess Spells [optional prizes for explorers] to be good alternate offensive / defensive actions in a future Zelda game myself, but otherwise what @ReyVGM said.

@ReyVGM

Yep, pretty much. You're pretty reliant on magic in Zelda II, but it was never THAT big of a deal in every game afterwards.

I'm racking my brain to remember when Magic was ever significant to the games. Sure it was cool to discover a fairy that would grant you more magic, but when did you ever need more than the first batch you got? The puzzles and bosses never demanded much of it.
