Now all we have to do is figure out how we can exploit this glitch, and make it happen when we want to! Thanks to Doug for the heads up!

Since it hasn't been posted yet I'll be the raving lunatic:
It can't be a glitch...they must have hacked something. Nintendo are perfect and never make games with any glitches...

Now that I've got that out of the way...
@Rashef
It might start deleting the oldest objects after more than a certain amount of objects...this isn't Scribblenauts* :P (*-most of the crashing bugs in that are caused by it not deleting objects after a limit...normally the bar is meant to prevent you from having too many objects but some objects don't count towards the bar...)

@Starwolf_UK

Hmm, didn't think of that xD. I'd check myself byt i've only 1 wiimote :/.

And it is a glitch in this particular setup/place. Makes the koopa troopa fall out of of his own frozen block and strangely coins spawn when he tries to climb it ;].

I saw this video and lol'd.

I personally didn't have the Ice Flower when I got here, but I have 99 lives now, as of reaching World 6 (I am taking it slowly, despite saying I wouldn't in an older topic).

@Starwolf_UK

Except the fact that millions of Nintendo games have glitches. Zelda and SSB containing a lot of them.

Unless you were being sarcastic, in which I lol'd.

@cortjezter

if it is a legitimate glitch, then he wouldnt know how it happened, i wouldnt think

any time ive come across a glitch, i couldnt figure out how it happened, and i couldnt recreate it
(unless the glitch was something like- dont go there, because your character will start break dancing)

It's easy to guess how this happened. They froze the Koopa just as he started to climb up, the edge of the ice counts as a hit, but the ice itself doesn't kill. Since he's stuck in that animation he's constantly being hit and thus after the first 8 hits it's free coins!

While definitely a glitch you get infinite lives by using continues.... not to mention lives aren't exactly rare. Not really a big deal if you ask me. It doesn't even really affect the game at all.

I would call this BS in some other games, but since all/most Mario games offers similar glitches, shortcuts, level skips with no penalty or life farming spots, I don't care.

The mechanic that gives out lifes and score for multiple hits has been around since the first SMB and it has never been fixed to my knowledge.
If the designers aren't serious about the score counter and the "beating the game without losing all lifes" reward, why should I?
Same story with many other games where the score counters and timers lose their purpose due to infinit milking spots and random elements.
