Against all odds, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - Reflex Edition managed to become a success, at least in the eye of critics. The game has garnered some very high reviews, with particularly tough outlets scoring the game well into the 8 out of 10 range. You'd never thought it was possible with Activision keeping so quiet on the title, opting for a veritable media blackout soon after the game was announced. It's very clear that there's some kind of trouble behind the scenes, but at least we know that Treyarch is there to go to bat for Wii owners.

At the Meijer I work at, everyone was buying Modern Warefare 2, while the Wii version was left sitting on shelves.
I saw one guy buy an Xbox 360 Elite just for Modern Warefare 2.
Not that all games could be easily done on Wii, but most hits this gen could, and some could be done with some changes.
Calling out? Surely that had already been done with COD:WAW, which actually looks better (visually) than this piece of crap, and was released at the same time as other versions.
Surely The Conduit was an even bigger example of 'calling out', considering it kicks the living crap out of most HD console games like well... Modern Warfare on a technical level? The online is far better too.
Sure the fault doesn't lie solely with Treyarch, I applaud those guys for bringing the engine across for COD:WAW. Activision are the true evil and clearly gave them no money but the game still stinks regardless of how much of a COD4 fanboy you are. This game does nothing but harm the image of the Wii, it was made to take advantage of ignorance.

That's disappointing but not a surprise.
No marketing for a two year old port that is being sold to a mostly casual market? Sound like a difficult sell... especially when people who really want FPS action are willing to buy an entire system to get the new hot thing.
WaW looking better than MWR? Most people will disagree with you, including me. The game looks sharper, and textures aren't as muddy as they were in WaW.
As for online, while The Conduit's was decent, it doesn't quite match MWR. It plays more smoothly, and doesn't take as long as The Conduit (from my experience, anyway) to get into a game.
Oh, and finally, MWR is pretty much the same, great game that came out two years ago. The core of the game is still there.
I REALLY wish people werent so ignorant to that fact.
Wow, you actually believe that WaW looks better than Reflex? You mean the game that chugged so badly that particle effects, including explosions and gunshots, would clip out?
I'm just going to assume that you've never played the game and turned a blind eye towards the videos that have popped up all over the internet. Everything from the level design to the HUD beats the snot out of WaW.
What? The game doesn't look sharper at all, it is exactly the same engine with even less going on. The textures are not nearly as varied, and the quality of the models is better in WaW.
WaW had far better lighting and effects present too.
@Kenkaku
As opposed to MWR chugging so badly you can hardly aim? As for the HUD and level design, those are design issues and hardly relevant to an argument on graphics, I also disagree with the idea that a straight, brown line = good level design.
Played it two years ago thanks, do you like spending money on inferior products?
i know, lets hire ezio to kill them all! at least he isnt on that dirty little peasant console.
I suppose I jumped the gun with the game looking "sharper", but it does look better overall, not to mention the textures don't warp/load up in MWR like they did in WaW, which made it look pretty ugly at times. As for the character models, I'll have to disagree with you on that. Finally, of couse it does slow down, but it didn't happen too often to me, and it's not as bad as it was in WaW.
It's certainly not the definitive version of the game, but I feel that it's a very good port, and I have played the PS3 version extensively.
