The OFLC says that Ogre Battle 64 is coming to the Virtual Console, and that's just fine by me. I'd like to see more N64 games in general! Why is this process so damn hard?!

Pretty Nice. I have the cartridge, but having this game on Nintendo's permanent records is always good news.

I don't think is a difficult to port situation.
Already the 64 VC have Majora's Mask (expansion pack only) and Paper Mario (320 megas, like Ogre Battle). After those two, I don't think that they would have problem with other games in the tech side.

IMO, the reason of the slow releases is simply the relatively small of games that can be done on the VC, after exclusiding licensed games, games by defunct companies and controller pack required games, you have less than a hundred games...and they will always need games for the future.

I also have the N64 cartridge and its a fantastic game. It's a bit slow paced but the story and gameplay are good. My favorite Ogre Battle game.

I remember that there's a cheat you can do via the item menu system where you can easily and quickly level up your army' stats.

Interesting. It is an OFLC rating and Ogre Battle 64 never made it to Europe or Australia.

Ogre Battle 64 is quite interesting as while Nintendo published it in Japan Atlus USA published it in America (though IIRC they had to fight Nintendo for rights...Nintendo were sitting on it...where have I heared that story before?). Could this be another sign of Nintendo working harder with third parties?
