Earlier tonight, I was watching Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, because I saw that comedian Robin Williams was going to be on. He may be a bit crazy, but I do think he's a funny guy! Little did I know that his segment of the show would quickly turn to video games.
Mr. Williams admitted that he is actually a very big gamer, and rattled off a few stories about playing 10-year-olds online, and getting trash-talked. The biggest shock came when Williams admitted that his daughter was named Zelda, due to his interest in the Legend of Zelda series. Both Fallon and Williams admitted that the Zelda series was one of their favorites in gaming.
As soon as the video pops up online, I'll be happy to show you the segment. For now, you'll just have to take my word for it!

eh, maybe you just have to pay a little more attention the the actors themselves to know these things
First I would always think of the game when calling him/her. Also what if my child wouldn't like video games?
yup, i heard this news like 15 years ago... maybe more
And yeah, he's an EVA fan and had them put the toy in One Hour Photo.

You know Zelda is a real name, right?
It's short for Griselda, and wasn't a name invented by Nintendo.
Miyamoto actually named the Princess after the existing Zelda Fitzgerald.
Of course I know, but Robin Williams specifically named his child because of this.
Some kids like to know where they got their name from and the answer for Ms. Williams was from a video game.
So?
Not just Evangelion, but I think he's a fan of anime altogether. I remember reading an interview years ago saying he was looking forward to seeing Steamboy.
Just want to say that I really like Robin Williams, but a few of his more recent films don't seem to be as funny as some of his old ones. The Aladdin movies are still hilarious to me just because of Genie alone, but at the same time the more recent movies "RV" and "Man of the Year" weren't really very funny (though then again I guess Man of the Year wasn't much of a comedy though, about half way into the movie it starts to turn into a thriller). I guess I could blame that on the writers, though. Eh whatever, the episode of "Whose Line" that he was one is still my favorite (all improv, and he was effing hilarious).
Anyways, that's pretty cool that he's an anime fan. I never knew that! I wonder if he's ever considered doing voice acting for anime's? I'm surprised he doesn't do ones for Disney at least. Disney is known to hire top actors and actresses for their Ghibli releases.
Seriously.. It seems today's actors are competing to see which can find the weirdest name for their kids.
@JamPony
she does look like him XD
then why take the time to comment? sheesh
But she mainly likes Halo 3, nobody knows for sure if she likes The Legend of Zelda.
But umm, she's 20 years old. That's OLD news right there
If the kid seriously has an issue with the name you gave them, there is something called,"name changing".
True, this is ancient news. Not to be a jerk, but I remember him telling this when she was born almost 20 years ago. At that time, he told the story as: He and his wife couldn't decide on a name for their daughter so they assked their son who said "Zelda" and they liked it and agreed, (knowing full well why he said Zelda). Still a great tale, but a very old one these days.
It's sad how we glorify celebrities when they're just normal people who do something well. The fact that people like Paris Hilton, etc are famous makes me sad.
