A portion of a C3 interview with Suda51...

C3: Do you have a large storyline planned in your head for Travis alone, or would you eventually consider making a No More Heroes game that focuses on a different character?

Goichi Suda, CEO of Grasshopper Manufacture: Unfortunately, the story for Travis alone is completed in No More Heroes 2. I am very curious about his life after this; however, we have no plan for No More Heroes 3.

C3: Do you want to make a MotionPlus Wii game in the future?

GS: If there is a chance in the future, I would like to try.

C3: With the first NMH coming to PS3 and Xbox 360, will it be long before Desperate Struggle loses its Wii exclusivity as well?

GS: I’ve heard that NMH2 is Wii-exclusive at this present stage. I personally think that this game should remain Wii-exclusive, but unfortunately Grasshopper doesn’t have the right to decide this.

C3: Would you ever consider doing a scaled-down version of No More Heroes on DS?

GS: I’ve never thought about that, but this is an interesting suggestion.

C3: With ‘Grasshopper’ and’Suda51’ becoming so popular now, do you want to see killer7 re-released or re-made?

GS: killer7? killer7 is a very very important game for me. The creative challenge of both the team at Grasshopper and me is packed into the game. killer7 is the part of my soul. A remake? No, but if I get the opportunity, I am certainly interested in making a new killer7.

I do dislike when companies do stuff with the creators game without their input. Then again thats how contracts work. sucks 'cause Suda51 really wanted the NMH games to remain Wii Exclusive. Hopefully the PS3/360 ones don't get localized.

I thought he was planning to do a NMH 3? Only without Travis as the main character.

"AR: You have previously said you would like to see Travis Touchdown in Smash Bros. Have you spoken to Nintendo to make sure this happens?

GS: Haha, I was only half kidding when I made that suggestion!"

--...

"AR: Akira Ueda recently told Cubed3 he is ready to make a sequel to the DS game 'Contact.' However, he wants to wait until you are free. Will you make time to work with him on the project?

GS: I’ve heard that Sakura Note, developed by Audio and headed by Ueda-san is like a sequel to Contact. The game has already launched in Japan, published by Marvelous Entertainment."

Screw that game, I want the true direct sequel to Contact with Suda working along with Ueda on it.

"AR: Do you still have close contacts with Capcom? Perhaps you could do a Capcom vs. Grasshopper fighter! Would you like to see your characters battling against Capcom favourites?

GS: Capcom is indeed very ‘close;’ it takes only five minutes to get to Capcom’s office from Grasshopper on foot!! *laughs*

Capcom vs. Grasshopper!? It will be fantastic if it happened for real! If Grasshopper is able to keep making better games, I think that it’s no longer an impossible dream, and we will translate this into reality. That way we are able to repay them for their support in the past!"

Oh yes please^^!.

Suda is awesome. He's just seems like a fun and modest guy. I wish they would let developers have more say in what happens to their titles. He made NMH and NMH2 as Wii exclusive games and that is how he wanted them to stay. That was his vision. Publishers always have the final say, though, unless otherwise specified in their contracts, so that's that I guess.

There is an upside to it though. I think its awesome more people will be able to experience the series (but I'm not entirely sure it'll find a much bigger audience than the cult following it has now). It just sucks that it is at the expense of the creator's vision.

WTF?

Didn't he just say there would be a NMH3, and that Killer7 2 wasnt happening?

He means they don't have a set plan of what they're going to do with NMH3 not that there wouldn't be a NMH3.

nmh2 on 360/ps3? hahaha, no

heroes paradise BOMBED, and hard, it couldnt even beat nmh2's sales, which were sh*t beyond sh*t

@Tradint2000
that is the double edged sword of development, if you stay indie, chances are VERY LOW that you will make any money, get any exposure, and stay open for longer than a few years

but then if you get a publisher, something that gives exposure, money, brand, etc, you lose your control

and good luck finding a publisher that will let you keep control of your stuff.

Killer7 is on rails, sequel would do great on Wii.

Nah seriously, this would be something to look forward to.

I just hope he doesn't compromise too much this time. While NMH1 and 2 are fine games, they lack those "WTF!" moments from games like Killer7 or Flower,Sun & and Rain.
