Not a big surprise to anyone I am sure, but the original source of the list has posted a retraction and apology. Hopefully some good will come from the fake list. There's no doubt in my mind that Sega heard about the list and checked it out themselves. Maybe they can take it as a hint for what games we would like to see them revisit!
