The Tales series has graced a ton of platforms, therefore allowing Bandai-Namco to sell a ton of copies. That's why the company just announced that the Tales series has broken over 10 million copies sold since its inception. I am not too sure that I consider selling 10 million all that amazing, simply because these games hit multiple platforms, and have been re-released a few times over the years. I am not trying to be negative in any way, I still think that the series is indeed successful...it's just hard to truly measure that success.
