This time we have an excerpt from an interview over at Buttonbasher in which Mr. Takahashi is asked about the Wii more specifically. This is a different interview from the one posted earlier today.

BB: Do you think that with the praise Nintendo has been getting with the Wii console, there is any way that it can fail?

DT:If gamers don’t like the GameCube 1.5 graphics, then it will fail. Nintendo’s biggest mistake may have been its failure to support high-definition graphics at all. I don’t know if the graphics will wow anyone.

I think all of us (GoNintendo staff) were wowed with Super Mario Galaxy at E3. It is funny, just before I got home I was discussing this with friends, and Deux Michaels commented on how beautiful he thought the game was. What do you guys think...is the lack of high-def graphics a possible downfall for the Wii?
