A portion of a 1up interview with Jun Takeuchi, producer...

1UP: OK, here come a whole bunch of stupid questions. Dead Rising is actually being ported to Wii. If you remove RE5's online component, do you think this game could also be ported to Wii?

JT: Hmm...honestly speaking, we're kind of pushing the 360 and PS3 to their limits right now, so it would probably be pretty difficult to create a Wii version of RE5.

I wouldnt mind a Downgraded RE5 on Wii. And I'm excited about Dead Rising for Wii. I know the end product will have way more zombies. I know it will.

I already said this before the new layout design but here it goes again.

I wouldn't want to play a downgraded version of RE 5. Instead of porting it, they should just focus making a new game for the Wii in a new engine it could support. I understand for only single console owners but I think it would be for the better if Capcom does a new RE game only for Wii.

I always wished Wii would get its very own RE, with enemies that could only be dealed with Wiimote. RE5's videos look just like RE4. Propably because of old, clumsy interface, enemies behaviour must stuck forever in RE4 level. With Wiimote in hand, we could react to much more aggressive threat. I'm thinking of really angry zombies that hastily runs screaming towards, never stopping until they cleave players skull in two. That way the game could remain its horror element(that usually dries fast when player gets used to manageable threats) longer, because a single "ordinary" zombi could be a fearsome threat. RE4 Wii was fantastic experience, but with Wiimote even the hardest level was so easy it stopped being scary. Now think of enemies that would be challenging to Wiimote wielding adventurer.

I'd also like better a RE made from the ground up for the Wii, using an updated RE4 engine.

@ternor:

Unfortunately MM9 has already gleamed over most fanboys eyes, so Capcom can do as they wish now with the Wii now [as they've had one or two big hits, why bother with any new games?].

And that includes a whole lotta ports... Joy! -.-

Two lies.
Using the PS3 power? No. They are not even using the Cell tech. The 360 can't handle it.
Pretty difficult? If that means employing more than 30 men for the port, then yeah. Considering that that's the biggest effort a third party makes towards the Wii... But tech-wise? Difficult, for sure, but not impossible, by any means.

OK so the Wii can't handle RE5, but a remake of RE2 for Wii would be lovely. Stop ignoring it and just do it.

my sentiments exactly dandancc. they are lying there asses off. ive seen numerous videos on re5 and in no way are they pushing any kind of tech. capcom is just lazy when it comes to the wii plain and simple.
