A couple weeks back, we posted a snippet from an interview in which Miyamoto glazed over Project H.A.M.M.E.R., among other things. The full interview is now available, albeit in audio format. I haven't had a chance to sit down and have a listen just yet. If you find anything of interest, please shoot me an email. I wanted to post this up for you guys to have a listen. I'll be checking it out a bit later today.

To be honest, I think that the hardcore commitment questions are a good thing. I mean, if nobody asked Miyamoto about hardcore commitment, then it probably wouldn't end well, I think...

There are still going to be people making the same dumb arguments no matter how many times Miyamoto explains things.

@devmas
Yeah, I agree with you, but for that cause, ONE question is enough, we've been reading/hearing that same old question since the day E3 ended.
I don't know about you, man, but if I had the opportunity to interview Miyamoto I wouldn't waste his time (and mine as well) with uninteresting questions he already answered before.

@pikma:
In times when the Wii's line up is kind of weak, these questions are permitted. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for the new Animal Crossing but overall... this year belongs to the Xbox 360. Also, asking the same question at different times will sometimes net different answers.

I'm glad they keep bugging the man about these issues over and over again, until they are resolved. If it was asked only once, dude might think that it's really not an issue at all and only one person thought there aren't enough core games.

IMO they should bother the hell out of him, until he actually delivers a game. Waiting 2 years for games to come is basically an insult. 2009 is empty.

Speak for yourself, Jake Ahola, I'm as interested in what the PS3 has to offer this season as in what the Wii will offer. (I'm not interested in any 360 game, but that's because I don't own one)
And maybe you're right about the "same question, different answers" thing, but if you sum the non-specific questions of the interviewer to that, it doesn't help at all and it ends being just one of many.

Your talking about Miyamoto here, he is not the average developer, in addition, he does check the internet press every now and then, He know what he does and he's conscious of the reactions he causes with what he does.

You're right in that he's not your average developer making generic games, and for that I'm grateful. Miyamoto is everyone's favorite developer's favorite developer - the KING. And I don't necessarily want him to keep making the same core franchise titles over and over again to keep us happy. BUT he has a lot of influence at Nintendo, so whatever he thinks they need to do they'll probably do. If Miyamoto feels there needs to be more core titles for Wii, they'll probably assemble an extra team or two to make these games. And for that reason I think it's always good when people remind him we need more core games.
Sure, he probably tries to somewhat stay in the loop by himself too, checking the user feedback if/when he has time etc, but to my knowledge Mr. Miyamoto doesn't really speak English very well (he usually has an interpreter with him), so he might not be fully aware of the opinions and frustrations of us western gamers without the interviewers bugging him every now and then...

Lets just be honest. These people are idiots. Keep asking the same thing and expecting a different answer each time.

I'm not exactly saying "don't question him, don't bother him! leave him alone"
I'm just putting on question the quality of the interview, that's why I put Stephen Totilo's interview as an example, it doesn't reveal that much, but it's well made, like a good interview, let's say.
That was my point at first, the other things, well... everyone has their own opinions.

Really? Cause I'm pretty sure Galaxy is only 1 year old and Brawl is about half a year old. So where do you get this 2 year figure from?

H.A.M.M.E.R. looked so bland...why are people so crazy about this game? Looked sooooo boring and repetitive.

@applejuicer:
I agree. But the Hammer mechanics could be good. Using the Wiimote as a hammer is something that gets my attention more than 1:1 swordfighting. I hope NST can get the tech behind and use on something amazing (the tech was unbelievable).

@WiiFolder:
People just don't look at the facts anymore. The Wii has a relatively limited time-line right now and people fail to remember that. In 2 years we've seen tons of great games from Nintendo and a few that can claim to be some of the best games made this generation.
They think Nintendo can magically s*** out games and ignore that development cycles are lengthy.
It's really starting to get on my nerves that people still think Nintendo has abandoned the core because they put out a few expanded audience titles (most of which are liked by core and expanded gamers alike).

Some earlier stated that this year belongs to the Xbox 360 and i just wanted to remind them in case they forgot. This year saw the release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, Wii Fit, along with Guitar Hero World Tour and RockBand titles. I have a 360 myself and i enjoy it esp. for the halo series which i totally love.
Total software sales and hardware sales on/of Nintendo's console are unparalleled this year. People seem to overlook the games that cater to the "core" market because the constantly see casual style software in larger numbers. There are many games out there that are not casual but people tend to only look for Nintendo to deliver them, maybe because thats what they are so used to.
I can't wait till Sega's Sonic Unleashed comes out, and i still want Star Wars: the Force Unleashed.
PS. I can't wait for Star Fox Wii to hit next fall (crosses fingers)

It's just wasted ink (and wasted Miyamoto's time).
