Doing some surfing, I came across this comment...

The on-again, off-again, on-again bundle of Animal Crossing: City Folk and the Wii Speak microphone STILL is not showing up in the preorder databases of major retailers. The game and accessory are out next week.

We know the bundle is coming...it was confirmed via press release. We also know that it will be in limited quantities at select retailers. We don't know the retailers, we don't know the quantities, and the launch is right around the corner. Why is Nintendo being so strange with this release?

It's good to note that Circuit City has the bundle listed by the way.

Maybe Nintendo isn't sure. I'm sure its hard to gauge a title like Animal Crossing and even harder to gauge how many bundles are going to be needed.

i've been asking my local gamestop constantly if the bundle is in the database yet, and they always look confused and have no idea that it even exists.

slightly frustrating.

the only reasoning coming to mind would be that retailers make slightly more money from people buying them seperately. I hope this is not the case :(

On a related note, Am I crazy, cause I seem to remember Cammie Dunaway or someone announce that the bundle would actually be $60 rather than 70?

I really could care less about this game. I mean, between the fact that there is little to nothing new from the past 2 games, and lets be honest, the DS version actually looks prettier than the wii. which is very sad. plus you have the fact that the speaker is all based on friend codes. and if you are like me (older than dirt now) you just don't have 30 something friends who want to play animal crossing.

it's just not much fun when you have no friends your age to play with, sure i could play some some kids, but that tends to land people in jail.

so for me, this game if out of reach and not all that interesting. not when i could play the past two games and get pretty much the same thing.

My local Gamestop had an official poster advertising the game, WiiSpeak, and the bundle with the prices listed but you could only pre-order the game by itself. Weird and frustrating.

@KK Wander:
Yeah, she annouced, but she is dumb. Everyone at NoA is stupid. They can't get a single right info anymore. It's just PR talk.

Take it as you will, but I went to my local Gamestop a few days ago when the local Nintendo rep was doing her monthly marketing at the store. Asked her about the game in general, and though she said it was coming out as planned, the wii speak bundle and the wii speak itself won't be out till December. Apparently is taking a bit longer to manufacture or something related to that.

You guys may want to call NoA and verify this. If a simple city rep can tell me this, I'm sure someone straight from the HQ can verify it for you as well.
