Prohibits the sale to minors of certain rated video games containing a rating that reflects content of various degrees of profanity, racist stereotypes or derogatory language, and/or actions toward a specific group of persons. - A01474, submitted by Assemblyman Keith L.T. Wright
There was a bill much like this one that came about in 2007, and that bill failed to pass. We cannot have the ratings of the ESRB undermined by bills like this. If a game is rated Mature, than people under the age of 17 cannot have it. If there is a game that features some foul language but still manages a Teen rating, than the appropriately aged children should be able to purchase.
