Last night, we told you that Dragon Quest IX was going to be delayed in Japan until July. This delay was due to some issues with the game that needed to be taken care of. Now we have the word-for-word translation from Square-Enix themselves.

"It has been recently discovered that the software in development contains an unforeseen critical bug. Although much effort has been made to fix this bug and test the usability in hopes that the game could still be released on the originally announced date, we have reached an unfortunate conclusion that it would take a longer time to fulfil these tasks in order to assure our customers of a product that they can enjoy safely." - Square-Enix
