We don't often talk about Gabe Newell around these parts. From time to time, we hear Mr. Newell say some positive things about the Wii, but that's usually as far as it goes. This time around, Mr. Newell had a lot to say about gaming in general during his D.I.C.E. keynote, and I thought it might interest you.

One of the topics Mr. Newell tried to tackle was the pricing of games. He believes that the industry may be tagging their products a bit too high for the consumer. There's a sweet-spot to be found, and even if prices were to drop, the resulting swarm of new customers would make up for that lowered pricetag. It could definitely happen, but there will have to be some bold publishers to test out those waters.

I'll provide you with some links that offer up great summaries of what Mr. Newell had to say. You can explore them at length, if you so please.
