Will the DSi actually give Apple a run for its money when it comes to the DSiShop Vs. the App Store? I really don't think so...the DSiShop is going to have a tough time competing. The App Store is much more open to devs than DSiShop is. With that said, the quality of games/apps on the DSiShop should be able to outshine the thousands of apps/games on the App Store. This whole shift the game industry is making is no doubt going to be interesting.
