Over at Gamasutra, a developer has put together a very compelling blog post to try and explain why hardcore games have trouble selling on the Wii, as well as explaining the tough road The Conduit has ahead of it.

When a core game comes out for the Wii, you think core gamers would be all over it. Recent sales show that that might not be the case. What's keeping these gamers away? Well, it might be competition from the 360 and PS3. Core gamers are looking at all three platforms when it comes to core games, and titles like MadWorld may have trouble standing out from the crowd with all the other core content flooding PS3 and 360. When it comes to these core gamers and their Wii, they are looking for experiences that can't be had anywhere else.

That doesn't mean that selling core games on the Wii is impossible, it just makes it extremely difficult.
