Yeah, I have to admit that seeing this would not leave me with the warm, fuzzy feelings that Nintendo usually gives me. Let's hope we don't see this...or anything even remotely close to this.

How about nothing involving Kid Icarus. I don't see why people like it so much.

Not sure how Luigi's Mansion and/or Wind Waker being added to the New Play Control Series would be a bad thing...I have both of them for the Cube but would definitely pick them back up without a second thought if they were enhanced!

Oh come on. Give them a little more credit than that GamesRadar. I know the piece was meant to be funny, but they took a jab at all the reccent DK games saying they were nothing compared to his platformers.
This may be true and a few entries may have been gimmicky, but most of them are great games. DK64 was good (not amazing, but good), The Bongo Games were by most accounts GREAT, and the GBA/DS games like Mario Vs. DK (and the sequel) and DK King of Swing were exceptional games.
I'd love to see DK back in a platformer, but that doesn't mean his latest outings were bad (except the racing one that came out for Wii which I can't think of the title at the moment).
I think we don't have much to worry about. Go in to E3 with low or reasonable expectations and you'll be in for a treat. Or at least not a disappointment. And Remember...Sin and Punishment 2, Mario and Luigi RPG 3, and other games are on the horizon regardless of what Nintendo happens to announce at E3.

I agree with GamesRadar on the DK jab, unfortunate420. His latest offerings don't stand a chance on the quality and fun that the old Donkey Kong platformers had. The majority of them have involved gimmicks.
Still, pretty funny article if I do say so myself.

What's sad is that this seems like an unrealistically optimistic scenario to me, mainly because it involves the announcement of more than one new game.
My actual expectation:
NEW PLAY CONTROL MARIO KART DOUBLE DASH
for fall 2009 and
NEW PLAY CONTROL MARIO PARTY OCTOLOGY
for holiday 2009.
And slides from Cammie Dunaway's last family vacation.

I think that after seeing how Nintendo handled PunchOut!!!! I don't think we need to worry about this becoming a reality

Is it bad that I would actually love to see two of those games come to Wii: Wii Colour and the New Play Control suggestions mentioned. And since when has Mario Kart been conceptually out-of-steam? Mario Kart Wii only happens to be the best online game on the console...
