Remember back in April when we told you guys that Wii Fit Plus may be coming? We had the retailer proof to go along with that story. Now, we have an even more interesting bit of confirmation.
Nintendo has registered a trademark in Japan for Wii Fit Plus, and it comes with this official logo.
If that's not a 100% confirmation of the game's existence, I don't know what is! Now we are left to wonder when Nintendo is going to show this off, and what it's going to be all about. A new bundle? MotionPlus support? Let's see if we find out at E3!

Turner, you mean just like every exercising tool? It's you, not the software. The software will help you in improving your overall fitness level, you just need to use it as a companion tool, and stick to regular use. It's clearly intended to be a tool first and entertainment second, and there's nothing wrong with software of that nature. It's just a bit jarring to see it on a console, I know.
BTW, what could Wii Motion + really add to Wii Fit? I can't think of anything...
My thoughts exactly... sadly.
"I can't think of anything"
That's why you aren't designing the software
"This is going to be the 'huge' announcement of E3"
lol, no sir. I'll be here laughing at you when the morning arrives. But we should both be excited enough at that point to truly care anymore
Dagnabbit Reggie...
More punching accuracy for the boxing exercise maybe...
I'm really not excited about this and hope they only show a brief trailer....IF ANYTHING at all!
I thought this was just a silly hoax or something. It kinda makes sense now though.
Lol?
Cant wait for this, I still love Wii Fit, its an awesome workout.
Oh well, hopefully third-parties will fill the void.
Nothing against Wii Fit plus but this means people will continue to trust unsubstantiated retailer lists about everything and anything. The same retailer lists which listed Pink, Blue and Black Wii Remotes (those turned out to be those rubber covers that were all the rage in '07).
I'm guessing Wii Fit Plus will be like More Brain Training. As for motion plus, prehaps some arm exercises but isn't that what EA sports active is for?
Yep. I can see the hate festering for after E3 already...
I guess it could still be OK, but if this is Nintendo's ace in the hole...
Their sparse showings for the last year don't mean they have done nothing, and we should expect what they will soon unveil to be fairly awesome and consist of a number of titles.
How can you say you aren't biased when you are already thinking the show will fail? It is really scary to me as a more 'casual' minded gamer (i.e. i play for fun, not for some kind of 'coolness') that so many of us Nintendo fans seem to be almost bigot-like in their hatred of 'casual' games.
"Oh, a type of game I don't like. Instant fail. Nintendo are dead to me. They suck."
I mean I don't want to oversimplify things but it really seems like this kind of thing should by all rights make up a large part of their conference. Look at how many copies Wii Fit sold. We need to be able to live together in a happy world with different kinds of people.
Hating people on the basis of their gaming preferences is almost even stupider than other kinds of prejudice, even if it isn't nearly as hurtful.
All true. But for me, this is sort of just a way Nintendo is milking their new audience. Wii Sports and Wii Fit are now commonly known games. Many Wii owners buy their console purely for these two games.
So what happens then? The console sales are nice but the software sales don't match. Apparently Nintendo's temporary solution is to remake the hits, with Wii Sports Resort and Wii Fit plus.
It's not the end of the world, but I for one am hoping that this won't be the focal point of their conference.
I want to hear logic as to how suddenly this announcement means it will be the highlight of a 3 hour show, when tons of core games have been announced over the last month?
I hope this is just a trademark for DLC or something for the original game. I can't believe Nintendo would jump on a sequel THIS soon. :\
And this doesn't mean we will not get an adventure or exploration based game (something Nintendo have done really well in the past).
btw, sorry Burgers, but Nintendo and DLC rarely fits well in the same sentence.
As long as this doesn't monopolize Nintendo's E3 presence (which it shouldn't, since it sound like a fairly predictable sequel a la Brain Age 2) I'm happy to give fans of the original more of what they want.
Oh goodie. Ill get this one play it for 2-3 months thinking its the coolest thing ever, and then put it back in my closet never to be seen again, just like the last one
And how is that different from 90% of the games people buy?
One hour show, not three hours.
I think if you got 2-3 months out of a game, you spent your money well. Most games lose their appeal after a few weeks. Some (like Mario Kart of Smash) have everlasting appeal (at least until the next game in the series comes out), but for most titles--A few weeks or a month or two is the tops before people move on to something else. So I wouldn't be complaining that you got 2-3 months of enjoyment out of a title.
As for the trademark. I called this. But it isn't doom and gloom people. Stop getting your undies in a bundle. Of course they are going to make sequels to their best selling expanded audience games. They would be f*** retarded to ignore the huge audience they created. Stop acting like every game that doesn't appeal to you getting announced is the end of the world.
