I don’t really play video games. Is there a way to waste more f—ing time? The Internet’s enough. The last videogame I played was Ms. Pacman[sic]. - Ryan Reynolds

I'll tell you what's a waste of time, Mr. Reynolds. The majority of your movies are a waste of time. Don't agree with me...come settle my hash!

I agree. The internet and video games tend to be a huge waste of time. It's not like there aren't other big time wasters, but yeah. I always feel bad when I am not at all productive.

Because as we all know, insulting the general public makes them like your movies.

I'm sure he's a pretty busy guy, he doesn't need more distractions. I like most of his movies.

Van Wilder and Deadpool.

But idt they're a waste of time. Like how are playing videogames any different than sports? Either way you probaly aren't gonna advance in a career for either of them probaly.

And really...insulting gamers like that when most people that like your movies are college kids who probaly play Halo 3 and Rock Band 2 all day? Why don't you say you're bigger than Jesus while you're at it.

Essentially, and existentially, EVERYTHING is a complete waste of time. But that's the point of life, to find FUN ways to waste time until we die. On another note, I don't consider having fun to EVER be a waste of time. Things like work, in reality, are much bigger time wasters. Because the point of life is to have fun...and then die. And yea, of course going to the movies isn't a waste of time at all...

Yup, everything can be considered a waste of time.

I don't blame Ryan Reynolds for saying this. I mean, his crazy abs don't have time for anything!

awww, that's too bad.

I really like Ryan Reynolds.

he was the only fun part in that Wolverine movie (not counting that "thing" he was at the end).

plus Van Wilder was great, and he was in that awesome Sugarcult video back in the day. =)

Totally misunderstanding a character for a part in a movie isn't a waste of time though, right, Ryan?

This coming from the guy who's latest movie is The Proposal?!?! Tell me something that is more of a waste of time than that! I already didn't like him, and this doesn't help. I mean for crying out loud, he's a huge Deadpool fan! How are comic books less of a waste of time than video games. And yes, I occasionally read comic books.

Gamers are the biggest crybabies I've seen. If there was a way to keep up to date on my HOBBY without reading these blogs and associating with anyone who takes this HOBBY way too seriously, I would be happier for it.

Agreed! You'd think he fired off a personal insult. I like games alot but I don't care one bit that someone else doesn't enjoy my hobby at all.

I don't know... it sounds like a bias opinion. ._.

Well, it's his opinion, fine, but it's how he says it that kinda bothers me. :/

Who cares to me he's just another Jack Thompson wanting to ruin people's lives no matter if it is Videogames, Movies or anything no matter what it is or could be so just ignore it.

Playing video games is a hobby, something people like to do in their spare time. Having hobbies = waste of time? Okay, Ryan.

Is it a waste of time if one enjoys something? I think not. It would be a waste of time to play or do something that you do not enjoy

@CrashMan

Luckily, that's not him playing 'Deadpool' at the end of the Wolverine movie. It's not even really Deadpool. I don't know what they did there. D:

I like Ryan Reynolds. Sure, he has a few bad movies (hell, a lot of actors do, that's nothing new), but I think he's pretty funny. Oddly enough, I think his BEST roles are ones where he isn't starring. I liked him in Wolverine, I liked him in Blade Trinity (I think he was the only thing I liked in that movie) and some other movies and stuff.

And honestly, it's just an opinion. Games ARE a waste of time. Especially when you have a profession in a different field. All hobbies are wastes of time, in truth, unless it is your job. Can wastes of time be fun and relaxing? Yes. But that doesn't change that it's not necessarily something you should or need to be doing. He's just saying that that and the internet are huge time wasters. Which is entirely true.

Hurr durr.

Um, maybe its just a waste of time to him and not to everyone else, just like his starring role movies are a waste of time for me.

Oh, so it's that guy from Two guys and a girl. Personally I preferred the other character...

Mr Reynolds pretty much said it himself, he is completely ignorant when it comes to games. He doesn't realise they are just as worthy a medium as anything else.

He has a right to say that, though he is missing the point that anything that you don't like will seem stupid to you... but I still didn't know who he was.

Well the issue is the way he said it. How he involved a curseword and said it was a big waste of time.

If he had just said he doesn't like videogames and prefers using his time for other things then yeah, it would be ok.

3 things:

1. a waste of time is strictly based on each persons's perspective

I don't agree with him though. If I enjoy doing something, then it's not a waste of time.

I'm not inclined to agree that "fill in the blank" is a waste of time, based purely on the fact that you aren't improving your life or others' lives.

2. video games are awesome, therefore his statement fails :)

3. ryan reynolds is pretty damn funny in most of his movies. he just needs to chill out on romantic comedies.
