From an Aeropause poster...

Speaking as an adult Chao, can we get an option to turn off the obnoxious Safety Warning Press A screen that appears on each Wii bootup?

I don't even realize that warning anymore. I never saw it as a bother either, it was just something I skipped past. Does it bug the hell out of you?

I never noticed lol, just thought of it as one of those annoying things you just skip by.

I think they need that incase of a lawsuit.

I'd much rather have a boot up logo, like the Wii circles they use in the tv ads! I miss the Gamecube jiggle boot up :-(

@benmully

Agreed.
We get the warning when we start up the system, and like 2 more when you start up a game. Most of which you have to wait a few seconds before they leave or can be exited.

The warning is specially bothersome on the last generation games for the cube that also included it, since at least on the wii, you can change game without seeing it again.

There's always one person who will "miss out" on it, and then flip when something goes badly during a play session.

I don't care for it, but I barely think about it, if at all.

We can thank the McDonalds ladies of the world for that. Now everyone needs to cover their ass in case some enterprising dumbass decides they can make a fortune taking advantage of the fact that there isn't a clear visible warning saying not to crush up video games and snort them off of lit dynamite sticks.

Yes, they are indeed that much of a bother.

So what? It's obviously just a cover-your-ass maneuver for legal reasons. No big deal.

EDIT: Just now realized this is referring to the Wii remote warnings in games and not the seizure warning when the Wii boots up. Heh...shows just how little I notice these things anyway. :P

I've always figured that while the health warning is on screen the game is already loading.

So taking off the warning screen only means replacing it with a loading screen.

And the one when you turn on the wii....not that big a deal to me.

Personally I hate all kinds of company logos and intros and especially silly saftey warnings you can't at least turn off somehow. On the PC it often is disabling something in a .ini file, but on consoles just like controls, most stuff is still fixed.

@WedgeWalkr - Don't think that really is the case most of the time. It's all over the top cover your ass maneuvers as Tendonin already said and the rest is about branding company logos and whatnot into your brain.

For me this whole thing even goes so far as that the DS is my most played system simply because I never turn it off and when I pop it open the game is THERE right away. No logo screens, menus or silly things stealing half the time I spend playing when I don't sit down for a few hours at once.

The bootup screen for Wii was more of a pain in the ass when it was implemented in GC games.

It really ticked me off when I reset Pikmin 2 fairly frequently so I could gun for no-death runs.

Nintendo wastes a big deal amount of safety warnings on boxes, paper, and even menu screens.

It wasn't a bother on paper, but on menu screens, Nintendo must really think people are stupid and/or seizure-prone.

Having it doesn't bother me, but having to wait a few secs to skip it does bother me a lot. Some games feel like it takes forever, I even get worried about breaking my controller of so much A bashing during this screen.

When you boot up the Wii, there should have been an intro to it (and you could turn it off). Instead we get a health warning.

I wish you could turn off the reminders to put on the straps and the condoms. I don't use either and I'm fine!

I actually kind of like it, since it gives me time to turn down the TV volume before the wii menu starts. (For some reason the Wii volume is much louder than the TV or DVD player)

If it doesn't bother you that's fine, but if you say you don't notice it then you are totally oblivious. The wiimote warnings bug the crap out of me especially in the cases with games that don't let you bypass them faster with the plus or A button.

With the opening black screen seizure warning, I actually turn on my wii first and press A before turning on the tv and/or changing the tvs source input. Hate those too but have made a habit of this practice to avoid it.

Damn attorney general and nintendo lawyers - but more damn to stupidly, lack of common sense, and lacks of personal responsibility.

The warning are annoying yes, but they are also hiding loading times. If you remove the warning you still have to wait.

What is way more annoying is that you can't just turn on the Wii and go straight into a game. I play Brawl half the time and you have to get out a Wiimote just to start the game.

yes they are, if people are too stupid to get it, then they simply should not be getting out of bed each and every morning.

do we really need a warning that says that game play may change while playing online? well......yeah, i'd hope it might.

Less bothered by the presence of the warnings than the time it takes to skip past some of them, honestly. Sometimes I find myself mashing the buttons, just wanting to get going.

@calmanny

I find the same thing strangely enough, and it doesn't matter which input I use. I wonder why.

A use of the health warning screen is that it reminds you to turn on the Wii remote by pressing a button, as Power, the console power button or inserting a disc do not affect the power state of the remote.
Also, I never use the wrist strap, and it recently got more annoying by receiving a jacket with the Wii MotionPlus. I cannot decide whether I prefer the remote rubbered or naked, and when switching between these states, a strap would really get in the way.

I hate this on DS and GBA titles (especially when you get warnings on the DS screen and then another on the game).

But as for "don't flail", yeah. That bothers me. It just seems like a waste of time. Especially since it is on every single game. Just put it in the Seizure Warning screen so we see it while we wait to be allowed to press A and then we're good.

It wasn't annoying at first, but when you're getting more games and playing more times, it gets annoying to have to look at that same screen. And the worst part is, they show it on games that DON'T EVEN HAVE MOTION CONTROLS. It just seems silly. They add in the "you need a nunchuk" screen, but they don't change the screen for games that clearly don't use the implied movements.
