You know you like to cheat when you play games by choosing two different save slots. That way, if you do something wrong, or things don't go the way you want, you can just reload your other save. Well, kiss that goodbye in Dragon Quest IX. You only have one save slot to work with. This is the REAL world now, baby!

Oh, how nice from them to encircle the place where it says that bit of info, if it wasn't for that I wouldn't have noticed :p

This might kill replayability for me. :( I like keeping my first save slot around permanently for whatever sentimental reason, but with this it'll be a choice between getting rid of it or just start a new game and constantly using sleep mode until I approach the end again.

And with this being a game involving creating your own characters and choosing their classes, it's exactly the kind of RPG I'd normally want to replay. Hopefully you can at least create new level 1 recruits at any time to kind of simulate starting a new game, even if it won't quite be the same thing. (I haven't been following DQIX very closely since I already feel pretty sure I'll buy it and don't want to make the wait harder by reading up on it, so that question might already be answered.)

Using multiple save slots isn't so much as cheating but trying to get round design flaws.

People who have played either of the Baten Kaitos games will know what I mean. To put it bluntly near or at the start of disc 2 you can save yourself into unwinnable situations (an area with no escape, with boss fights you may not be able to win).

That said Since Dragon quest only lets you save in the safety of the chruch and the death penality is very light its not too bad.

Still it is disappointing news. I know with Pokemon I'd play the games more if I could have a second save slot.

Hey RMC, could you repost the usb DS adapter that let us copy our save games to a pc with no issue? I'd like to get one. Games like dragonQuest, TWEWY and Pokemon are finally forcing me to need it.

Darn. I like to use at least two save slots. I certainly don't consider it cheating!

Not a deal breaker though. I still hope this comes to NA!

that's stupid if you ask me....

I use multiple saves not just as a backup,

I like having multiple saves in case one gets corrupted

it's happened to me on a ds game and it sucks

That sucks, but it's no gamebreaker for me.

And it also says that "you might not be able to play this game if you have non-approved software / hardware installed". This is the R4 and similar devices.
