Filed Under: Wii, Rumors, Nintendo in general
Were you thinking that Wii Sports Resort was going to be the only MotionPlus-supported game from Nintendo in 2009? I know that's what I was thinking, but rumor has it that there will be not one, but two more titles published by the Big N that will feature support for the peripheral. Unfortunately, that's as far as the rumor takes us, so we don't know if these will be new games, or games that have already been announced, such as Cosmic Walker.
Also, this blurb of info may only pertain to Japan, and not the rest of the world. We'll just have to keep our digital ears to the ground for more information. Thanks to Tom for the heads up!

I don't wanna slap Nintendo in the face but they should've waited till they knew about 10-15 far in development then launched WM+ so that the games would come out close to the product's creation instead of giving us something to do more with but only giving us a demo to try stuff out and two sports games.

@bonefish
I'm happy someone else noticed that! I'm really looking forward to it.
I'm curious as to what the other one is. I know it's a lost cause, but I'm still holding out for Star Fox.
But really, I'll devour whatever else Nintendo is releasing for M+ this year. And Sports Resort is going to be awesome.

Span Smasher?? lol I should pay more attention to E3 announcements... never head of that before.

holding out for star fox to come out this year and support motion plus when it hasn't even been hinted at is a pretty hopeless cause

Wii Sports Resort is going to rule, I can't wait to try out Span Smasher!
@Unknownsage
Then you would complain that they weren't giving third parties a chance...
There will easily be that many titles out by end of the year for WM+, they just won't all come from Nintendo.
Virtua Tennis 2009
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2010
Grand Slam Tennis
Wii Sports Resort
Red Steel 2
Span Smasher
That Golf Training Thingy
And lord knows what else. I'm happy cuz I just found out I get the rental house I want so I'm too busy to tell you why you are a silly goose.

Span Smasher sounds like it would be. Rodjoh, Span Smasher wasn't in the conference but it was on the show floor along with Sin & Punishment 2, and Line Attack Heroes.
The game was first revealed at the October 2008 Conference in Japan.
Anyway, good to see that Nintendo may be supporting Wii Motion Plus after all. Though I know Miyamoto wants to make the new Zelda Wii Motion Plus only...so expect a bundle there.

Don't forget Crazy Mini Golf with M+! That's the biggest M+ game this year!
Really though, every Nintendo game from here on out should be Motion Plus compatible unless the game really doesn't require it. They need to make it a standard.

@palancas7
Excuse me if I actual want games to be playable with something I just spent $20 on.
@WiiLikeSportz
I don't mean to bring up the console wars but if Sony and Microsoft ever release their motion things(I say that because it's said both the videos at E3 were fake)then they'll probaly have like 30 games close to launch with both.
And I'm not saying just for Nintendo to make the games. I meant as in they should've planned for there to be a certain amount of games at WM+ launch so people could be able to use it to it's full potential. Rather than release a game showing demos of what it can do and then releasing a golf and tennis game. Heck I wouldn't have minded if they delayed it a bit for other games like RS5 that use it.
@asparrowgoose
Idk..that just sounds alot like what Nintendo did with the N64 and everyone complained about making the add-on required.

Wii Sports Resort, Span Smash, and one other game. What else does Nintendo have to announce?
July 2, 2009 at 7:36 am
Span Smasher we know uses it. The other I geuss is either Cosmic Walker or a new 2nd party title.
July 2, 2009 at 8:23 am
lol, Unknownsage. 30 games? yeah ok, let me know when you wake up
on topic: I think it will be either a Mario Party or a Warioware, and those could be good, but i would ideally want something a little beefier

@Unknownsage
it would be a miracle for Sony or Microsoft to even MAKE 30 first party titles in an entire generation, let alone for the launch of one peripheral! I think you over estimate how many games each studio has made, Microsoft have made about 10 games first party for the 360, and even then about 5 of them are RARE games.

So, it is just Red Steel 2 then.
No, really! what?...10 tennis, 12 golfs and a pacman/breakout thingie, the only reason to get M+ in 2009 is Red Steel 2.
EDIT: yeah and WSResort that will be shelved with 2 maybe 3 play sessions.

Span Smasher? WTF?!
I had NO idea that game existed... o_O
GoNintendo needs to give the game some love. XD
@WhiteX
"... yeah and WSResort that will be shelved with 2 maybe 3 play sessions."
Considering many have already played it and love it (because it actually IS deeper than Wii Sports), I reaaaally doubt that. XP

@dunnace
I didn't say first party. I meant as in arrange for there to be 30 games coming out. Like find out what companies are interested or already working on it and arrange a date for them all to come out on.

I personally hope one of them is Cosmic Walker. Ever since i seen it at e3 08, i've been waiting for more info. That would be cool if it uses motion plus like sky diving in WSR. You would have to manipulate yourself around in space while completing missions on the spaceship. I can only dream. On another note, i personally think that the Motion Plus already has a beefy line up for 2009 alone. Tiger 10 is going to get best sports game of the year and WSR is going to sell like hotcakes. Red Steel 2 is just going to be insane.

@Unknownsage
have 30 games all launch at once? that is overkill and would just oversaturate the market. There usually isnt even that many games released on all 3 systems combined even over a 2 month period.

Notice how I said 10-15 is how many I think should've been prepared. I guess launching all at once would be overkill but it would've appealed to a mass audience and they wouldn't all have to come out at once. Maybe you could space them out but still, just my opinion on how it could've been better executed instead of giving us Wii Sports Resort(aka a giant demo)and the WM+ and telling us to wait. And yeah I am aware of Grand Slam Tennis and Tiger Woods but there should've been more stuff to appeal to a mass audience rather than sports games lovers.

@Sonicboom
WiiLikeSportz just has an issue with a differing opinion. And apparently in this case he is against companies having a better execution that'll make the consumer feel more like getting the product.

It's probably E3-absent Dynamic Slash, the game with the girl slashing big robot things with a sword.

@DonnyDarko420
I didn't say all at once. Microsoft isn't gonna risk anything so they're gonna have 30 games prepared to be close to the Natal launch. Not ON launch SPREAD out NEAR.
