July 2, 2009 by The News Team Filed Under: Wii, WiiWare

First, the good news. Here's a little bit of in-game art for Cave Story WiiWare showing Kazuma in the original and updated sprite forms.

Second, a snippet from the official blog shows us how far along the game is.

“On the programming front I have more recently spent time tweaking the error handling for the Wii as well as putting the final touches on lotcheck. We are currently in the process of being approved for Nintendo’s Wi-Fi access for the DLC back end stuff. ”

Let’s see, most of the hard stuff is done:
- Remix/original artwork
- Remix/original audio
- Three save files are working great
- Game is running beautifully at 60fps which was the originally intended speed! :)

We still have bugs that need to be fixed. Probably about two dozen or so minor little ones that we need to address.

Looks like we'll have awhile still before the game hits. Click here to read the full progress update

Yeah, I wish they would release it with the bugs right now, so they can patch it later!

it'll come out when it's ready. if it's rushed everyone will complain about how buggy it is. instead of how long it's taking to iron out the bugs.

What do you expect? the original game was a labor of love on Pixels part.

They just have high standards to live up to and they seem to be taking that serious.

I cannot wait for this one. But thankfully the longer it's delayed, the more polished the final product will be.
