July 3, 2009 by RawmeatCowboy Filed Under: Wii, Nintendo in general

Japanese Wii owners are now getting the 4.1 firmware upgrade for their Wii. What's the big change with this latest update?

It appears that Japanese users were having some issues with the Wii after playing Wii Sports Resort. If you were to play Wii Sports Resort, and then load a WiiWare or VC title after playing, all would be fine. Once you went back into Wii Sports Resort, you were forced to watch the Wii MotionPlus 'how to' video...every single time. This latest upgrade takes away that bug, and has hopefully stopped many people in Japan from going insane.

It's good that they fixed it so fast. Is that all that it includes?

I hope they release a firmware update to solve the bug some have experienced with Wii firmware 4.0.

Wow so they make a firmware upgrade to fix something that wasn't even necessary to be in the game to begin with? GG Nintendo.

@smk

No, it means they are attempting another anti-homebrew/piracy patch. This fix is just a bonus
