Only the guys at ScrewAttack would come up with this. A competition to see who could blow into an NES cartridge to make it work. Check out the insane footage below.

Oh come on, everyone knows that blowing into the carts didn't help, in fact, it could damage them.

The only reason why people believed it worked was because what actually helped was the fact that pulling the cart in and out helped cleaned the connectors.

Ah, cartridge blowing, the one real cure for childhood asthma, it doesn't take much to see that increased lung capacity and upper respiratory strengthening was what helped many youth of the late 80's and early to mid 90's cope with asthma. Since the inception of optical discs, asthma and childhood onset diabetes have skyrocketed, so if you want to stay healthy remember, blow, blow, spittle, rub board contacts, blow, blow, shake, insert cartridge and jiggle a little, cycle up and down, power on and if your game doesn't load, repeat. Instant health guaranteed.

Nope. Cartidge blowing was the REAL DEAL. :D

You're not from the 80's if you never blew a cartidge, and believed it worked.

Sega gen and N64 for me.
haha worked every time ;)

It wasn't until years later I saw they had a warning not to do it...

My conspiracy theory they put that on there so people would stop fixing the games and buy new ones. What evil geniuses.

Oh dear! I remember blowing into carts...

...sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. I think all my NES games are beyond help now though.
