“I love him (Travis), and I want him to be a huge star. That’s why I’m working very hard to make this game as interesting as possible. Maybe in the future, we can see him fighting alongside Link in the next Smash Bros. [laughs] That would be great.” - Suda51
I wonder if Nintendo would allow something like that. I think Travis is a bit too mature for a game like Smash Bros., but you never know! Suda has a long time to plead his case!

Travis gets his first look at Zero-suit Samus. What do you think he'd do? Never plyed the first one, but considering it, and in I read the NMH2 article in NP and it said that he has a weakness for attractive women.
His moves don't have to be altered, they just won't have the same effect.
Think about it.. Just one swing from Ike's sword would slice Bowser's shell in half.
Travis could work, after a bit of adjusting.
Keep the franchise Wii-bound and it would be welcome.
You are so cool man that's exactly what I was thinking.
He'll try to do everything except introducing himself, Dude. EVERYTHING!
But knowing Samus, she wouldn't let him come close her, because he's not Master Chief.*ba-dum... tsh!* Then he might try to make a move on Zelda and Peach. And however else is added in 4.
And I don't see Travis as too mature for SSB. He is just as mature as Snake.
But on the subject of Smash Bros, I have a feeling there are only two options for a future Smash Bros game:
A: Overhaul the system drastically.
B: Keep the system as-is but make the next game's defining feature a generous mix of characters from non-Nintendo properties (Megaman, Lara Croft, Jill Valentine, etc.)
I don't think players will tolerate another half-step up from the previous game.
Like everyone else said, if we can get Snake, whose from a game filled with blood, male magazines, and sex, can't we get Travis?
If No More Heroes got on another platform, then sorry no dice.
There is a larger candidate list for Nintendo exclusive 3rd party franchises than Travis. He kills his own chances if he goes to Ps3 and 360.
And don't mention Snake, por favor. We just got lucky Sakurai and Kojima were buds.
For example, I would love to see Professor Layton take his place because he's exclusive to Nintendo platform, otherwise Smash Bros wouldn't be what it is. Making a few exceptions is A-OK, going out of the way just to please Suda51 for being greedy is a bit too much to ask.
Getting NMH into a franchise is no big deal, even if it goes to other platforms. Expecting Smash Bros to welcome Travis with open arms is a different story.
"B: Keep the system as-is but make the next game's defining feature a generous mix of characters from non-Nintendo properties (Megaman, Lara Croft, Jill Valentine, etc.)"
This is what I would've liked in Brawl, but if there's gonna be a Smash game in the future with this idea, then i'm defintely going to be paitent. ^_^
I think his final smash should be where he turns into Darkside Travis and any opponents he gets near he'll have the slash direction arrow show up and you gotta push the c-stick in that direction with the GC controller or slash with the Wiimote.
You forgot to mention also include DLC. It would totally increase the replay value to get downloadable characters and stages.
Samus and Master Chief is disgusting. Don't ever say that again. Ever.
@Hawk
Lara Croft?! Seriously?! Really?!
Even if it might not be for a long while...
They're just examples, man. Calm yourself down.
And she's no less a gaming icon than Sonic the Turd Factory. He got his shot in Brawl, didn't he?
I'd say of all the Smash characters he'd be the least mature of the bunch.
@Hawk
Lara Croft?! LOLRUMAD?!
Yes but you also have to consider that Sakurai might not be involved in the next game.
Ha. Good one. Like the next Pokemon generation will be the last Pokemon game ever made too right?
I'd welcome Travis. I still have yet to play NMH, but I hope to borrow it from a friend soon if I don't see it for cheap somewhere. Hm, with Gamestop lowering prices though- maybe I should go see what's on sale.
So no thanks.
MAKE IT HAPPEN.
Wasn't there also fanart somewhere when someone combined Kirby and Travis?
Here it is!
Final Smash... Hmm!
Dark Side mode, of course!
I'm hoping that the next Smash Bros. will have more movesets and Final Smashes for each character though!
What the hell is the problem with having 3rd party characters? All it does is let you have more and more possibilities for cool match ups. Even Mario and Link aren't exclusive to Nintendo platforms if you want to get all elitist about it, CDi remember?
@ArakniD
STFU b****. What the hell is Olimar? 2 games and now he has history?Or Ice Climbers? They have 1 game! Travis is probably my favourite video game protagonist in recent memory and just because you don't like him doesn't mean he's badly designed. If anything, he's probably deeper than most characters to date.
Also, his taunt should be him "charging" his beam kantana XD
"it has to have a game in a Nintendo platform"
So even if it went out to other consoles... Who cares!? The saga still began on the Wii.
So yeah, Travis please
but three words to this:
MAKE IT HAPPEN!
oh and wouldn't Jack Caymen be awesome too
Just saw ArakniD post and was about to say something myself, No need for the b**** part but you are right about Travis also Pikmin is a great game and I was glad to see Olimar added but like many character by Nintendo he lacked true substance and chracter. Still so did early marios so Olimar is still Awesome.
