Atlus made one little mistake when putting together their latest teaser site. They left the link to a image in the source code...and that image was a logo.
Allow me to do a little translation for you. The logo above says Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey. We also get a date out of the logo...but we still don't know the platform. Guess we'll find out in a few weeks!

Just so you know, the original Shin Megami Tensei games are first person dungeon crawling RPGs.
And Persona is a spin-off.

What crappy stance? They have 3 Trauma Centers, Dokapon Kingdom, and localizing Shiren 3. Much more than I can say for the other consoles (3 crappy SRPGs on the 360, and localizing Demon's Soul on the PS3. Though I think Demon's Soul is the best out of all these games, it's still just one game that they haven't developed).
Oh, and Wii/PS2/DS is fine for me.

I really really really hope its on the DS or Wii. Devil Survivor was awesome . However if its on the other systems, its all good.

Yes, but SMT3 wasn't first person for a pretty good reason, such titles are niche and they'd never ever do one these days if it was a AAA title. it would be a spin-off at this point, that... if they want to do, they should do it as a unlockable/optional mode of sorts, like shin Megami Tensei 3 did or even Baroque.
@Soriku
that's a crappy stance. Only Trauma Center is in-house the rest is Atlus USA... and they don't seem to plan to follow with proper hardcore titles. Nothing against Trauma Center, but for a RPG fan that's nothing, just cashing in on a profitable franchise and investing that money elsewhere by the looks of it.
I should say "thank you Atlus"? so far it's thanks for nothing, even DS, who got crappy in-house support from them for so long got Etrian Odyssey, a new IP, done inhouse.
They don't give a damn if you ask me, and the reports that they're focusing on HD platform development are just stupid on their account.

Considering that a MegaTen on the XBox put Atlus into the financial crapper for years, I doubt that they'd splurge on a HD MegaTen. They simply don't have the funds to live through the sales fallout if it tanks.
I'm predicting a Wii, DS, or PSP game.

Please be for ANYTHING but the Wii, DS, or PSP.
We need a game like Nocturne on HD consoles.

Atlus tried going big once with the original XBox - it nearly bankrupted the company. Since then, they've remained pretty conservative. They clung to the PS2 for their flagship franchises until recently, and the only in-house current-gen games Atlus put out were Trauma Center titles for Wii. Something tells me that they're going to be developing on the cheap this time around, too.

I honestly don't know what you mention Atlus single RPG on the Xbox compare to the amount of RPGs they released on the Ps2.
Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2, and Persona 3 and 4.
All high profile RPG games from them with tons of investment, knock it off with the insane THEY CANNOT DEVELOP ON HD CONSOLES CUZ OF XBOX FAILURE.
Even Disgaea 3 of all things appeared on HD consoles, that's not an Atlus franchise but comparable in the RPG niche market.

Wow... way to talk down to somebody giving his two cents.
It's not an "insane theory" at all. It's simple observation.
1) HD games are expensive
2) A game like MegaTen would require a phenomenal budget to make it palatable to the HD crowd, as it's a flagship game that would have an expected presentation and treatment by the fans and media.
3) Atlus was financially ruined after the failure of one huge-budget game in '02/'03 (Shin Megami Tensei NINE)... to the point where they had to be bought out by Takara to survive.
4) DDS and Persona didn't cost nearly as much to make as you think.
If a game can post solid profits on 200,000 sales, it's safe to say that it was fairly inexpensive to develop by today's standards.
Of course, "tons of investment" meant far different numbers four or five years ago than it does today.
Yes, Disgaea appeared on PS3. However, can we really say how much it actually made in profit? Since then, we've seen Nippon Ichi go back to porting Disgaea 2 to the PSP, and Phantom Brave to the Wii. Not exactly an encouraging sign.
Oh, and I'm sure the other RPG devs loved the performance of Star Ocean, Infinite Undiscovery, and Tales of Vesperia, each showing grossly lower sales than what these companies are used to after the PS2/XBox/GCN generation, despite having far higher budgets. Sega really seems to, with its decision to move Valkyria Chronicles to the PSP after touting it as a proud PS3-exclusive franchise.
Again, just my two cents on the market.
Edit: Apologies for being snippy. My Wii's out on its fourth repair session right now (I just have that kind of luck), so I'm a bit peeved with the situation.

give me persona 5 and smt4 wii atlus, not spin-off's that could be way better than they are if they weren't trying to change core gameplay just for the sake of being different than what everybody wants.
