July 20, 2009 by RawmeatCowboy Filed Under: Wii, Nintendo in general

One long-time Nintendo gamer doesn't like what he sees with motion-sensing/exergaming, and he takes a final stand against the expanded audience. It had me chuckling at a few points!

The end of the era where you could feel like you were super different for liking something mainstream is now over!

Facing the truth that when millions of people do the same thing it isn't 'alternative' at all... and having to accept it... well that's just the new era we live in!

I'm going to assume that the youtube comments will all talk about how horrible motion controls will be...even though they loved Sony and Microsoft's Motion controls :D

Relating to the video, I think he pretty much stated everything many Nintendo forum people always seem to bring up and talk about :D . I find it funny, though. I'm good at ALL games (including the casual)!

HECK YEAH!

I don't think adventure games/immersive quests/etc... have disappeared. First of all, there is some pretty good games coming on the DS (like M&L or Zelda). And hopefully, Nintendo is currently developing more; we already know about Zelda wii, and Galaxy 2 might be more immersive, oh and Endless Ocean 2 is coming.
The press made a fuss about exergaming and motion controls, but hopefully, with the motion plus and other types of games, controls will be even more immersive, and everyone will forget the controller while playing. Because the job of a great controller is to be forgotten.

Funny movie. I love how it goes both ways... poking fun at the popularity of exercise games like WiiFit while also laughing at the way-too-serious geeks who get bent out of shape about them.

That said, the nostalgic NES flashbacks were awesome.

that was kind of funny :)
and kind of sad :(

there are way too many people b**** about wii motion controls IMO.

motion controls are the future, not just a fad.....

and for the record I play most wii games sitting down.

@ejamer

Agreed 100%.

But I hope they implement more motion controls in next games... and I kinda hope they use the Wii Balance Board, but it's very expensive :/

that was awesome, that said tho, this points something out. why is that people are so agains the idea of playin wii fit for less than an hour a day if that. isnt that what it was supposed to be anyway. something you play while excersising. i honestly think gamers are the perfect target audience for this. god knows thers recognisable chunk of us that could muse more cardio.
