I kind of bet that it'll be released for D/P as well, considering that the item is present in all versions and that they all have the capability to download stuff off Wi-Fi.
Hey, it's a way to sell the game to Pokemon players who really want to fill their Pokedexes or want to have a powerful Pokemon without hacking. Also, it won't be for D/P. They recently did another promotional item (I think it was the key to unlock the multiple forms of Rotom) and D/P was unable to get it.
I would really like to get Platinum, but I was really hopeful that, by some miracle, Nintendo was going to release a Pokemon Platinum DSi bundle.
Probably not. I was hoping for one but oh well. I'm guessing that if there is a DSi bundle with a Pokemon game it'll be with the 3rd game of the HG/SS series, maybe something Shiny Crystal? But the thing is, a well done Giratina design on the DSi would look pretty cool, and I have nothing against Suicune but I'd rather something else (maybe Ho-oh and Lugia?)

Japan got a special jirachi download not too long ago. it knows the previously Dragon exclusive move Draco Meteor. not sure if america is getting it. also since HGSS is on its way Celebi will surely get its own event.

That's not going to happen. More likely to happen to HG/SS. I don't think it is though (is it?)

There is the chance of a Pokemon DSi, but I doubt a third version of HG/SS will happen, just look at FireRed and LeafGreen.
