LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Nintendo today announced that the new Wii Fit™ Plus game will launch in North America on Oct. 4, and also revealed new colors for its popular Nintendo DSi™ system and for the revolutionary Wii Remote™ and Nunchuk™ controllers and Wii MotionPlus™ accessory. Starting Sept. 13, Nintendo DSi will be available in White and Pink, joining the Blue and Black versions already on the market. Additionally, this holiday season, Nintendo will release a new Black version of the Wii Remote bundled with a Black version of the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which brings precise motion control to games that have been designed for it. A Black version of the Nunchuk controller also will be available for the holidays.
Nintendo of America President & COO Reggie Fils-Aime made these announcements in his keynote address at the 2009 GameStop Manager Conference.
“All of these announcements bring more options and more choices to consumers as our industry heads into its busiest time of the year,” Fils-Aime said. “Each of these products allows consumers to enjoy a more personal gaming experience, no matter how they choose to play.”

I guess they figured they should make as much money as possible off the people that were too dumb to not buy the first one, while making sure the people who DID buy the first one would buy the second because the disc alone is so cheap.
Another example of the "friendly" business Nintendo has become.
It's just a black Wiimote.
Don't take as long with some other colors, Nintendo.

Hey, you know what they say, "If you don't like something, no one should like it so complain about it until your blue in the face and tell everyone who does actually like it how stupid they are for having taste different from their own!!"
... Or something like that. ;D
Fro~
That's freakin' insane. How much was the original bundle?
Is the balance board REALLY worth 80.00, Nintendo?
What? People can complain that one word was taken out from Metroid Trilogy, but I cant say i don't like 2 colors?
ok then!
Also, WiiFit PLus disc = 20 bucks = win.
Thank you Nintendo!
Price increase for the balance board? LOL
Only black controllers but no black consoles? LOL
If they think they are going to regain momentum with these they are completely incompetent.
You wanted to buy a black console? I assume you already own a Wii, so why would you buy another just for a new shade of color?
New color remotes in my eyes is cooler because people do buy more than 1 controller.
But there are people without a Wii, and they may want a black Wii to go with their controllers. The point wasn't for Trestres, he was saying Nintendo won't gain anything from this.
I got a black Gamecube and I refused to get purple controllers for it. HOWEVER, I always wanted an orange controller. Why did we never get an orange Gamecube, but Japan did? I'd have been all over that.
I'm debating on getting the black Wiimot/ion+ bundle depending on the price. Hmm.
* Black Nunchuk: The Black Nunchuk will be available as a standalone purchase.
So why is there no Black Wii?
This is absurd.
No red DSi...
BUT BLACK WII REMOTES WOO.
Honestly...I was at the FanExpo in Toronto on Sunday, and I was talking to one of the guys at the Ninty booth, and he said that he had no idea about it, and probably couldn't tell me if he did know.
Still....
Should have released Classic Controller Pro two, though. I guess they're saving it for Monster Hunter tri-.
I doubt I will get a black anything. I already own four of everything....
And the new colors are cool. I would like a White DSi, but I already bought a Black DSi at launch....
In people's mind, if they walked in a store and Wii Fit and the supposedly better Wii Fit Plus cost the same, they wouldn't believe that Wii Fit Plus is really better.
Buying the original Wii Fit for the board and getting disc only of Wii Fit Plus is only $20 more than just getting Wii Fit.
Eh, lame new colors for the DSi. Pink? Really? *sigh* Guess I'll just buy a black one when I get the money.
"I really think Nintendo is overestimating the longevity of this casual market. "
I love the ignorance you're showing. Since I don't want to waste a long rant on you as I suspect you wouldn't even read it anyway, i'm just going to tell you to look at July's NPD software sales and see what genres and publishers dominated it.
If anything, your precious Core market is the one with no longevity.
@Artistic_Anarchy
It obviously means they really are planning on introducing it soon, they are just waiting to announce it. I suspect it's their event near TGS time.
Oh come now: I agree with your content completely but not your tone.
I do think Garfitor is basing his opinion about the 'casual market' more on a gut feeling that he has than any facts, but only time will show what happens with Wii Fit Plus.
I have to say to everybody: Wii Fit is $89.99, this is $99.99. It's supposed to be an upgrade: this isn't a sequel.
People would be upset if SMG2 was $10 more than SMG or if they had to pay ten dollars more to see Jurassic Park 2 than Jurassic Park 1, but this is everything in Wii Fit plus new features and extras: games like Madden 08-09-10 have us thinking that adding features is a sequel but this isn't the case in this... case. Damn I could have worded that better.
Anyway, being one of the people who love Malstrom's writings and thinks the core market is imploding and all that, I pledge from here on out to not stand for any mocking of people based on their corality, or to let people who have similar views to me make a bunch of arrogant sounding statements just because it isn't nice. Let's be nice, that's my new motto.
I mean why be mean to people if we really believe everything they love and hold dear is going to change and be ruined forever? We should be extra nice.
I still don't understand. Saying Wii Fit + is $10 is damage control.
Will WF+ be sold separately from the balance board? For $10?
So Wii Sports is free and Wii Sports Resort deserves to be $50 because it has a few more games?
I guess Katamari Forever on PS3 should be $70 because it's everything in the first few Katamari games plus new features and extras.
A better question, other than when they add new instruments, do the Guitar Hero/Rock Band games go up in price with the SAME peripherals?
"There's more in it" is really no excuse. I could say Brawl has more in it than Mario Galaxy, does that mean Brawl should be more money than Galaxy?
Unless they changed the Balance Board, there is no reason for the bundle to be MORE money. Also, by default, it has to give you MORE points for Club Nintendo, otherwise it's even more rageworthy.
"Will WF+ be sold separately from the balance board? For $10?"
No, for $20 it will though.
You are taking the whole sequel and content relating to pricing thing too far, as I tried to guard against, and I really can't see why you don't understand.
Wii Fit will still be on the market. Why the hell would this improved exercise tool cost the same?
Don't say 'they should drop Wii Fit's price' because it still has value: what they have done (raise the cost of the improved alternative by 10 dollars) actually fits what is going on.
And come on: the people complaining about this bundle price either already have Wii Fit by now or don't give a crap about it at all: so you are either looking at a very nice $20 purchase of the disc only or it doesn't even matter to you so why moan about it?
Wii Sports isn't free, it's included with the purchase of a Wii. Wii Sports Resort is only $30 more than the cost of WM+ by itself, and includes WM+. You can't just hurl odd things out and act like they prove your point when its obvious you haven't even really thought about what you are saying. Well, you can, but you will just reveal yourself as making ignorant, desperate claims to prove a point you aren't even quite sure what is... and I don't really think that's your goal. I hope its not, anyway.
And one last thing: people don't buy Wii Fit to be a video game they buy it to do the job of fitness for themselves in their lives. It makes sense that something that does a better job would cost $10 more. Big deal. Get over it.
Oh and i suppose the bundle cost more in order to avoid confusion... does it really matter though ?
OFFTOPIC: WiiLikeSportz I saw the CD that your icon is from from the other day. It gave me a little grin.
I may have been a bit harsh, I agree, but the constant ignorance and lack of respect towards the expanded audience, especially on a Nintendo fan site, is too much to tolerate. Every time I try to have intelligent discussions on the internet about Nintendo, all I get is hatred tossed back at me, and I'm getting quite fed up with it.
This is a retarded move and abusive. End of story.
And now explain me how is Wii Fit+ supposed to draw in new buyers if this is in fact more expensive than the last Balance Board bundle.
I'm hearing now that "Why complain about the price increase if people who wanted Wii Fit already own it". How is this supposed to help sales?
Honestly, for once, I was just asking questions in that post, rather than trying hard to prove anything.
Also, the moaning, on my end, is because if my family WERE to buy it, it's now more money and that seems unfair to have to spend more on it for lulz. But you are right, it doesn't directly affect me. Honestly, it's just the fact that Nintendo is doing it.
Straight people fight to protect gay marriage, even though it isn't directly affecting them, so I don't see the problem in my thinking it's unfair.
Are you suggesting the Wii itself is only just around $200 (or just below) because the other things are included?
I'm pretty sure if they removed Wii Sports, the Wii would still be $250.
Anyway, my Guitar Hero/Rock Band question still stands. I don't look into them since I don't buy them, but do they go up in price, save for if they add new instruments?
@Inneverate
People can be fans of Nintendo games and not be fans of Nintendo as a company, or fans of NOA or their respective form of Nintendo. It's not that hard to comprehend why this hate exists when various people feel shafted for various reasons.
I love Nintendo franchises, but I hate them as a company. I'm still a Nintendo fan. Doesn't make me any less so.

*flips through* ahh, yes.
This doesn't pertain to a Wii price drop, or the fabled Wii HD, therefor this is another sign that Nintendo has forgotten about us real gamers for the retarded customers. I can't wait until the Wii fad dies, and Nintendo comes crawling back on their knees.
