Castlevania the Adventure ReBirth

Platform: Wii

Rating: Teen

Content descriptors: Animated Blood, Fantasy Violence

Rating summary: This is a side-scrolling action game in which players battle against monsters in Dracula's castle. Players use a chained whip to fight their way through halls and dungeons filled with zombies, skeletons, flying eyeballs, and bats. The enemy creatures frequently shoot projectiles and attack players in hand-to-hand combat. If players sustain too much damage, they keel over and emit a burst of red blood. Some rooms in the castle also have spikes or spears stained with red, blood-like splotches.

Konami is really going all-out on these 'ReBirth' titles! I wonder just who is involved with this project. Could Igarashi be a part of this game?! Thanks to all that sent this in.

So how many RE-Birth games do we need exactly?

The only good 2D classic Castlevania is Rondo of Blood. I don't want more Medusa Head bridges.

While Gradius ReBirth didn't spark an interest in me, both Contra and this are very awesome looking games.

Castlevania the Adventure: Rebirth?

Doesn't this suggest a full color X68000-esque/Arcade looking remake of one of the Game Boy games rather than an original title?

Well all the same that sounds kinda kickass.

Hell yeah, finally a classic Castlevania on the Wii. Even if it's WiiWare.

I just hope it turns out great, let's see some trailers!

Of all the Castlevania games, they pick the one that is argueably the hardest.

Hell yeah!

Oh, and @MrBubbles, you're thinking of Super Castlevania IV. (Although III's a close second)

@Fuego6

You're gonna hate this thing then.

@Parko

Have you actually gone back and played them recently? Castlevania IV doesn't hold up too well compared to SotN.

Hahaha, I was literally just talking with a friend about how cool it'd be to have one after we both loved running through Contra (and I enjoyed Gradius now that I've actually sat down to play it).

And yeah, christ guys, EVERY Castlevania that comes out these days is Metroid style, why does this one have to be too? I love the Metroidvanias, but why can't we have some variety?

@moonspark

Unless you like the old style as well as Metroidvania, then it's awesome. There's been 7 Metroidvanias and not one single old style one ever since Symphony of the Night (The PSP Rondo port really doesn't count), there's nothing wrong with having a quick break before Konami inevitably goes back to milking the same style they've been doing for ages.

Awesome, now all we need is some screens and game play videos

@Skireny

Or something completely new which doesn't strays too out of the formula. The best old style Castlevania was Castlevania 3 with its character switching mechanic, the later ones kept going a few steps backwards than forwards.

If any Castlevania needs a rebirth or remake or whatever it has to be Simons Quest imo.

Interested in this one since it's CASTLEVANIA.

F*cking awesome. More Castlevania is always a good thing, especially if it's in the old school style gameplay of old Castlevania. I love the Metroidvania gameplay, but give me old school gameplay baby to make me happy!

This is f*cken awesome. I never played the original GB game, so I have no preconceived expectations, and even if it isn't DS portable quality, it's 2D vania! How could that possibly hurt?

I hope they give this game a proper treatment, considering the limitations of WW.

Uber Cool..

I doubt the gameplay will be similar to SotN, though that would be great, but Super Castlevania's is not terrible either... Maybe something in between those two.

Oh, I'm all in for Jackal: Rebirth as well.

Now HERE's a Castlevania worth getting excited about. I never stopped playing the first Castlevanias in all their forms. The Metroidvanias are finish-and-drop affairs, but the arcade-style Castlevanias are the ones you come back to keep your action gaming skills up again and again.

I hope one of the Belnades clan is playable.
