And the next wave of hype begins with a Game Informer teaser...

24q2vpt.jpg

There's no doubt that this is for Epic Mickey. Last we heard, this was a Wii title that was going to be a 'Mario killer'. We've also heard that Warren Spector was the man behind the project. I guess we'll find out all the details come next month! Thanks to Greenyz and Deadmen for the heads up!

I hate hype. Hyping something only ends up being a bad thing to do, since the title usually stands no chance at living up to it and you resent the game for it.

Hope it's tight and cool. Seems cooler than Kingdom Hearts based on the concept art.

I've never even heard of this...
Whatever it is, it's gonna need to be quite something to be a "Mario Killer."

Mario's not really something that can be "killed" at this point, anyway...

But hey, a great platformer in this day and age in hard to come by.

I fully trust Warren Spector. Probably the only game designer in which I have complete faith if he is left to do as he pleases.

What makes you guys think that it is a Wii title? Because of the previous concept art? It could have been easily moved to another platform.
Sorry, but I'm not boarding the hype train.

I'm not a fan of Disney, but I have to admit this has potential. Right now I'm keeping my hype-level on moderate.

Hope they stuck the Development for the Wii. Especially if the Controls are brushed based similar to Okami, put that WM+ to work and it would be perfect.

Because one of the dev's sites confirmed it as such?

Anyway, hope it turns out well!

Wow, there has to be some change in the wind, an epic Wii title being revealed in a Game Informer!

If I recall correctly that'll be my last Game Informer too.

I hate to sound fanboyish, but this is one game where I'm SO hoping it did NOT jump ship to the other platforms. I don't care what IGN freaking said that "only HD could do the concept art justice," (pfft "true HD" my @$$, only the PC has true HD as of now) this is a game I want to see on a platform like the Wii! I know one of the devs confirmed Wii exclusitivity months ago because the game would have Okami-like brush gameplay, but then again Okami was originally on a dual analog platform... damn I'm so hoping this game didn't suddenly jump ship, BUT if it did then please tell me it's still going to be on Wii. If they canceled it altogether for Wii in favor of the HD platforms only, then I may actually start to believe the crazy conspiracy theories that some devs probably have it out for the Wii, even Warren Spector.

So many games claim to be 'mario killers' and yet there he is as amazing as ever on top with greatness like Mario Galaxy.

Somebody explain to these devs what killing something means.

Well it looks like it's for the Wii. If you go to the company's website (http://www.junctionpointstudios.com/). Go to the about section and then look at the pictures. In it you will see the developers and guess what, they are holding Wii remotes with nunchuks. They are owned by disney. So this almost confirms a Wii title coming from them!

Well that GAF thread got closed fast due to system wars, they started a new thread with unconfirmed system in the title. But I do hope this game hasn't jumped ship from the Wii. People claim they could make use of Natal and Sony's Motion...I could see it with Sony's Motion...but not Natal.

Who cares really. They're planning on making a really high quality game. If it doesn't manage to beat Mario at least we'll have another awesome, high quality title.

eww that doesn't sound right at all ...
game informer is making its next publication around it . And they never ever even acknowledge that the wii exist . So i'm now convinced this is not for wii at all , only on ps3 /360. Even though all platformer combined on those platform sold less than a quarter of mariogalaxy

@Eternal Rain

When did IGN ever say that?

In any case, I hope that this is for the Wii, as Warren Spector did a pretty good job with Deus Ex.

Since it's Game Informer, I highly doubt this will be Wii exclusive now (if it ever was in the first place).

Or else Nintendo Power would have scooped this scoop without a doubt.

@Fatal Frame Fanboy

I'm too lazy to get the link, but when the art was placed on the Internet IGN did an article on the art and mentioned how one of the devs resume's said it is a Wii game. The editor of the article (I can't remember who, but it definitely wasn't a Nintendo team member like Matt or Bozon if he said the following) said that he wished it wasn't for Wii because "only HD could help make the game match this artwork."

Okay so? Yeah I won't deny having it on the other systems would allow for a higher amount of graphical detail, but I feel like I practically need this on Wii because the Wii needs more games like THIS. Also, lets be honest, which system is most likely owned by the most Disney lovers? I'd expect Wii since it's owned by many families, and I think some adults who are Disney lovers would like to see a darker side of the world Walt Disney helped to create all those years ago.

@bunny-cow

Here's my guess: Disney probably didn't want to use Nintendo Power because that mag typically caters to people who only own Nintendo systems. Game Informer covers all systems (though admittedly their coverage on Wii related materials feels off balance with everything else) so Disney probably wants to let even non-Wii owners know "hey here's a game with Mickey Mouse that's also epic! Buy a Wii now if you want this little beauty right here! *Wii sales suddenly see a spike*" (lol, somewhat kidding on that last part, but it'd be interesting if true).

@bunny-cow

That's a really good point.
But External Rain made a good point as well.

This may be coming to Wii, but I doubt it would stay there for long.
Disney is smarter than that and would probably want to reach out to anyone.

I really wish it was staying Wii exclusive though.
That would be awesomazing.

@bunny-cow and to all others saying its probably not wii because game informer is biased...and it seems they kind of are...one thing is in the letters section of this issue...a reader asked why no wii exclusives havent had a cover story...the last one being red steel before it launched...and the editor states to just wait and watch the next couple of months....so this fits in nicely with that letter is all im saying
