"One thing I do say to retailers is that they should stop selling those rival products which don’t sell through, and instead focus on the products that are selling through and generate retail value and return on investment. I’m not here to talk about the competition, but one of our competitors we outsell nine to one, eight to one or seven to one depending on the week. The last GfK research showed that we have a 50 per cent market share of the music category – which includes Rock Band, Wii Music, SingStar and every other music game." - Michael Sportouch, Senior Director of Guitar Hero
Holy crap, these people involved with Activision are absolutely insane! They have no filters...they're absolutely outspoken, nasty and without couth. One day, they aren't going to be the big dogs on the music block anymore, and I bet they'll be singing a different turn then.

Way to be pricks, Activision.
Showing no respect towards the consumers will only hurt you in the long run. Robert Kotick is running Activision's successful brands into the ground, and once he's done destroying the company he'll just leave and take his millions with him.
I think it's more or less the fact that whoever is the biggest 3rd party has the apparently 'excusable' right to be complete and total pricks.
I mean, EA sucked the big one for the longest time until Activision partnered up with Vivendi. See how quickly EA became much more humble, whereas Activision became jackasses almost overnight?
I'm really getting tired of you.
Amen to that. Though, MW2 is gonna be GOTY no matter what anyway...
Saying that the purpose of a business is to make money is like saying the purpose of a job is to make money. Technically, this is true, but when you ask someone what their job is, they don't say, "To make money,", they say what they do to get that money.
For a business to get money they have to do something, and that's sell something a customer values. To say that a business being greedy is what they do is not correct. To say a business exists to make money is also not correct. A job does not exist to make money, it exists to do something of value, and a business exists for much the same reasons. If it is not doing something of value, it does not get money.
I feel as though most people have improper definitions of what a business is.
I concur. This kind of attitude is just... I dunno, I don't have words for it.
They should eliminate Rockband too! You know, that way everything will be easier for them.
Why don't they actually MAKE BETTER GAMES, so they don't have to worry about competition as much?
@MoldyClay
Any reason for that? You know, other than to "be cool" for thinking different?
Vicarious Visions ftw. Activision ftl.
Your products are outselling the competition because you've released four to five games MORE than the competition. Scale it back before it gets run into the ground.
Statements like this are why I don't support Activision anymore. Rock Band is a superior franchise anyways. I don't care how many good things Vicarious Visions are doing, I won't support them.
EDIT: For those who are saying activision over do it on sequels, it's a music game, more variety only makes the games better, the argument is a bit... thick...
Arrogant bastards.
