“We definitely would like to be in there but we felt some of the compromises weren’t what we wanted. That could change. I love the idea that that’s where people are getting music, and we’d love to be in that world. We’ll figure something out. What The Beatles have done, where the animation is much more representative of them, is what we’re interested in, rather than the one-size fits all animation. We didn’t want to be caricatured.” - bassist Adam Clayton

Here's a question...is U2 big enough to warrant a game the calibur of The Beatles: Rock Band? I'd say that the band is pretty damn big, but still not popular enough to get the same treatment as The Beatles. I'm sure resident U2 super-fan Cort would beg to differ! Thanks to QuarterRoy for the heads up!

I think Rock Band: U2 would sell through the roof. They are arguably the most popular band in the world today, and their body of work would allow for a much larger game.

I'm more inclined to buy a U2 Rock Band than the Beatles one.

Yes.

U2 is decent, but I don't think they deserve a game. The Beatles worked because they reinvented the music scene. Metallica worked because they're arguably the biggest metal band in existence. Van Halen kinda works just because most of the songs are going to be pretty difficult. And AC/DC and Aerosmith... never deserved games in the first place.

U2 has the right ammount of music for a good game- and the right ammount of flavor. I'd pick it up- and I don't own any of the crappy music games.

I liked The Joshua Tree. One album in their career that I liked.

U2 is the biggest band on earth right now, just take a look at the recent tour. Of course they deserve their own game, but what I'm doubting it's the audience that's targeted. Well, I guess that if it worked with Van Halen and with Aerosmith, with U2 will be a very huge success (maybe not as big as the beatles rock band, but still very, very profitable).
