FREE STARS: Children of Infinity, a game that was fully funded in only 3 hours on Kickstarter, is now coming to Switch thanks to the console port stretch goal being reached.

In case you are unfamiliar, FREE STARS is being developed by Paul Reiche II and Fred Ford, the same people who developed the Star Control games back in the 90s. Paul and Fred have worked on many games since then, but they wanted to continue the work of Star Control, which is what inspired this Kickstarter campaign and why it became so popular as soon as it was announced. FREE STARS will serve as a continuation of Star Control 2: The Ur-Quan Masters.

FREE STARS can still be supported on their Kickstarter page here, so if you’d like to contribute to this great project and be part of an important’s game legacy, feel free to click the link and read more about what they are planning ahead.

It’s been a while since the last update for the next chapters of Deltarune but today we finally have some really exciting news for fans!

The development team behind Deltarune has expanded, adding several new members to the team. This addition has significantly boosted progress on the game. Accoding to Toby Fox:

Chapter 4 development is going better than ever. We are on track to meet our internal deadline. The new hires are already making a great difference to improve the atmosphere and feel of the chapter. I feel really good about this, champ.

Currently, Chapter 4 is progressing well and is on track to meet the internal deadline. The cutscenes are nearly complete, with only a few challenging ones remaining. All battle attacks have been developed, although some refinement is needed for the boss encounters. Approximately 10 more overworld maps need to be created and some existing ones require polishing. Additionally, most iterations of a complex gimmick have been completed, with further work required for the new maps and one additional gimmick.

After completing Chapter 4, part of the team will shift focus to Chapter 5. Despite the progress, the developers have not yet set a release date, citing potential unforeseen factors. They promise to provide updates as soon as possible and are committed to delivering the game to fans.

And that’s all for this update. While the lack of a release date may be disappointing for some, hearing that the game is progressing well is always nice to hear.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!

There’s been more and more talk over the past several months about Microsoft bringing their previously exclusive games to other platforms, including the Switch. Much of that talk has come from Microsoft themselves, with games like Grounded and Pentiment both landing on Switch recently (and Hi-Fi Rush all but confirmed). Now, a new report indicates that there could be more Microsoft games headed our way if their CEO has his way.

The report in question comes from Windows Central, and it’s a rather critical exploration of current Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. The part that concerns video game fans comes about two thirds of the way through, when an initiative known as ‘Latitude’ is discussed. The Latitude project is apparently all about bringing more big Microsoft developed games to competing consoles in an effort to increase profits. The report’s sources indicate that there is “no red line” for what those games might be, meaning that even their most coveted franchises could be on the table.

We’ve already seen stories of great success for Microsoft games on Switch and PS5, so it’s not too surprising that they’re looking to expand the initiative. Still, it sounds like there’s some pushback both internally and from fans, so this might not happen to the extent some would hope. No specific games or plans have been formally announced yet either, so we’ll have to wait and see what this all amounts to.

Paramount+ has shared a new video running down the biggest Easter eggs featured in the Knuckles live-action series. This includes references to Sonic the Hedgehog video games, voiceover cameos, and more. (If you haven’t seen the show yet, you may want to skip this video to avoid spoilers.)

If you’re a fan of the original games, you probably caught most of this while watching the show for the first time. There are a few small things in there that you may not have picked up on though. You can see them all in the video above, which is only about a minute long. All six episodes of Knuckles are available right now on Paramount+.

If you pre-ordered a physical copy of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door from Walmart, you might want to take a minute and check on that pre-order, as it might be cancelled.

Walmart is sending emails to customers telling them that their pre-order for Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door has been cancelled. Walmart is offering those impacted $25 off their next purchase through Walmart, so at least there’s a little something to ease the pain customers will no doubt feel.

In their email to customers, Walmart specifically says that “Nintendo will only be offering this item in stores.” We’re not exactly sure what that means or if it applies to more than just Walmart, but it’s a strange situation nonetheless. This dovetails with the recent news that Amazon was also cancelling Switch game pre-orders, and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door was a victim in that wave of cancellations as well.

We’ve reached out to Nintendo for comment on this matter and the post will be updated if/when we receive a statement.

The Five Nights at Freddy’s movie has been a big success by any measure. It quickly became Blumhouse’s highest grossing movie in the studio’s history and it brought in the biggest five-day debut of any title on Peacock. Even without confirmation, everyone knew that a sequel would be greenlit, and now we know when that follow-up is coming.

Universal and Blumhouse have officially announced Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 for release in theaters on Dec. 5th, 2025. It’s worth pointing out that the first movie arrived in theaters and on the Peacock streaming service the same day, but it appears the sequel is going to have a theater-only run this time around, but a streaming release will surely follow a few months later.

Josh Hutcherson was the lead in Five Nights at Freddy’s, and last we heard, he was itching to get in front of the camera for the follow-up. In an interview with Variety, Hutcherson gave fans some insight as to where the film is in terms of development.

“I know they’re in the process right now of nailing down the story, and they want to get going as soon as possible. Obviously, the fans are amazing and die hard. For me to be a part of it was was so cool and phenomenal. We hoped it would connect with audiences, but I don’t think that anybody, even on our side of things, expected it to really connect the way that it did. I’m dying to get back on set. Emma Tammi, our director, was fantastic, and it was such a fun world to play in. I’m excited to see what they are doing next.”

Publisher M2 has released Kyukyoku TigerHeli -TOAPLAN ARCADE GARAGE- on Switch today. The title is priced at $35 and takes up 415 mb of space.

The fourth entry in the highly acclaimed M2ShotTriggers line to hit the North American market, the Kyukyoku Tiger-Heli collection includes the two “Tiger” games by the developer Toaplan, who is responsible for many a fabled arcade STG.

Kyukyoku Tiger (1987) is one of Toaplan’s most emblematic works. The game revolves around strategic use of your main shots and devastating bombs, which riveted the attention of not only hardcore arcade-goers but also of commuting office workers back in the day. The seed of its core mechanics can be seen in its predecessor Tiger-Heli (1985), which is also present in this collection.

On top of the Arcade modes where the original experience is faithfully recreated, each of the two games has a Super Easy mode that provides more relaxed gameplay, making them easily accessible even for first-time players!

The M2 Gadgets reveal useful gameplay information such as the location of hidden items, or even warn you of enemies that try to blindspot you. Alongside many other helpful features, they guarantee that even the most seasoned players discover aspects of the games they never knew before!

The Arcade Challenge modes make their appearance again in this collection! These let you play small chunks of the games in any order you like, which makes it ideal for repeated practices. You’ll soon find yourself prepared to tackle the arcade modes!

In terms of hardware, we unfortunately don’t have much data to go on. We usually get details on placement in terms of overall sales between platforms, but we don’t even have that this time. The only thing we do know is that console sales down 47% over the same period the year before. Should anymore hardware details become available, we’ll update this post with the specifics.
