Japanese console sales for January - Wii beats PS3

As far as next generation consoles go, the Wii was the winner of January when it comes to Japan. The Wii sold through 405,000 units while the PS3 sold through 148,000 units, making for a nearly 3 to 1 ratio.

“There could be a price cut for the PS3 by the end of the year, and more software titles will hit the market. I expect the PS3 to be doing better after a while. Of course, the Wii will keep running ahead all the while. - Enterbrain President Hirokazu Hamamura
