Dear Reader:
Conduit 2 - the Hive Cannon gets an alternate fire mode: 'Honey Glob'
A portion of an HVS-Network interview with High Voltage’s Josh Olsen…
HVS NETWORK:Since the controller layout was one of the strongest aspects of The Conduit, have you changed or tweaked it in any way?
JO: We haven’t really messed with it too much - like you said, it was one of our strongest aspects in the first title. We have added sprint functionality - it’s mapped to the crouch button (tap to crouch/hold to sprint) and weapon alternate fire functionality has replaced the scope/zoom functionality from the first game. All weapons now have an alternate fire, be it iron sights, zoom, or a weapon functionality change. The TPC Launcher from C1’s alt-fire is to shoot proximity mines that attach to surfaces (including an enemy’s face) and explode when enemies are within range. The Hive Cannon’s alt-fire is to shoot a sticky projective (called the “honey glob” by the team) that causes all subsequent rounds fired from the weapon to track towards the honey glob. It’s pretty cool.
