The Gurugu Race

- human-like creatures
- they fought against man for hundreds of years
- humans won the fight and the Gurugu were pushed out
- humans still have ties to Gurugus all these years later
- humans have built up weapons to protect against the Gurugus
- the island is fortified with canons to deal with Gurugus from across the sea
- Gurugus will attack the island via an airship at some point in the game
- Elza and heroine Kanan will be joined by mercenary Quark and a member of the Ruli Castle knights to form a party of 4 to fight this attack
- the Gurugus will be divided into swordsmen and mages

Tension Skills

- this is the”skill” gauge below Elza’s HP gauge
- based off your actions during battle
- when full, switch to command mode to use the Tension Skills
- Elza’s, “Accelerate” Tension Skill allows for speed increases
- make Elza use his wind magic to spread the Accelerate modifiers effects to other members of your party.

Elza’s Vertical Slash

- whole type of attack that makes use of the environment
- use of columns or walls
- Elza will run up these walls and slam his sword down, which deals out a damage radius
- combine this move with Elza’s Gathering Ability, which turns enemy attention towards Elza
- use wind magic to spread the effect of Magic Circles, which are remnants of previously cast spells that are left on the battlefield
- Vertical Slash move can also make Magic Circles spread
- call via a command window
- precisely aim

Closer Look at Ruli City

- new locations: Naful Canal and Shokunin Street
- Naful Canal: manmade river that was created to protect Ruli City from flooding during the rainy season, splits the city in two, bridges used to cross into the Central Plaza area built atop the Canal, see people fishing and taking walks along the shores of the Canal, fireworks at night
- Shokunin Street: gathering spot for workers of all kinds, purchase equipment and accessories and to strengthen your current equipment, access the game’s appraisal system via a shop, narrow street packed with people
- businesses are just run by people on the street
- talk to the people to open up a shop menu
- use money and the items required for upgrades
- upgrading your equipment will improve their properties and could also unlock new skills
- weapons may transform after fortification
- use the appraisal shop to identify items that are marked with a question mark
- items like this cannot be used until identified
- most items obtained from enemies are random drops
